Man’s physical appearance can change even so, as time goes by, our spiritual condition can change as well. The problems or sin can arise in our lives. If we do not take care of these problems, they will pull us away from God. God desires to help us take care of these

problems but we must seek Him first. Today we will see the three things that we must do in order to experience God’s help.

I- WE MUST ADMIT OUR NEED FOR HIM

First, we must admit our need for Him. Romans 7:18 says, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,)

dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.”

We all have tendencies to fall into sin, yet with God’s help, we can overcome those temptations. We must admit that we need God to help us defeat the devil’s temptations. Indeed, God is greater than our opposition Satan—I John 4:4. Paul admitted that God is using his weaknesses that He might display His strength—II Corinthians 12:9-10. As we recognized our helplessness and hopelessness that is the time God made His presence and power be seen.

On the other hand, the more we think we can stand by our own selves the more we fall—I Corinthians

10:12.

Sometimes, we thank all the people for everything that seems we don’t realize that it is He we need above all.

We can never experience God’s help until we humbly seek Him admit then ask for help.

II- WE MUST BE WILLING TO LAY ASIDE ANY HINDRANCES TO OUR WALK WITH GOD

Second, we must be willing to lay aside any hindrances to our walk with God. The devil is crafty in devising ways to distract us from living for God. He knows our weaknesses and will often attack those weaknesses to make us fall. There are things the devil will throw our way that will hinder our walk with God. In Matthew 4:1-11 give his best to hinder Christ for submitting to the will of His Father. Satan uses the fun, fortune, and the fame respectively which is the picture of the lust of the flesh, pride of life and the lust of the eyes.

There may be some things in our lives that hinder our walk with God that are not necessarily bad. It may be a hobby, a favorite activity, or something else, but if it takes us away from God and hinders our walk with Him, we must lay it aside. Philippians 3:13-14 says, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Paul realized the importance of laying aside those things which hindered him. We must lay aside those things that hinder our walk with God and seek Him for help. It is not God’s duty to remove things that hinder us. Don’t pray for it you must lay aside everything that hinders our service and obedience to God. It is our responsibility not God to lay aside the filthiness of the flesh and spirit that we might walk in holiness toward Him—II Corinthians 7:1. The devil does not want you obey Colossians 2:6.

III- WE MUST HEAR THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD

Last, we must hear the truth of God’s Word. God tells us in John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” When we spend time in God’s Word and hear from Him, He will help us overcome our sin and problems.

Paul instructed Timothy to study God’s Word so to combat ungodliness—II Timothy 2:15-16. The Bible commanded us to let the Words of Christ dwell in us richly—Colossians 3:16. Remember, the Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth but the question did you hear, learn the truth?

Whatever problem arises in our life, it is the truth that you have heard become the solution. Indeed, the truth will set you free from anything that enslaves us. Yes, there is the victory and liberty in the truth. You can experience God’s help if you live according to the truth that you heard.

We must seek God’s help for our problems while we still can, before they grow out of control. If we do not seek God’s help, the sin and problems will pull us away from Him. Is there something in your life that is pulling you away from God? The devil places things into our lives to distract us from serving God. We must seek God’s help to overcome these distractions. Seek God’s help today, and let Him help you as you seek to live for Him.
