I. UNIFORM REGULATIONS
● All articles of clothing will be marked with last name and first initial.
● Standard regulation uniform (Combo = $24.00, Shorts = $12.00, Shirt = $12.00)
Grey T-shirt or Eleanor Roosevelt High PE T-Shirt.
Navy Blue Shorts or Eleanor Roosevelt High PE shorts– Name on bottom (left) of leg.
● P.E uniform cannot be modified. (No cutting or tearing of uniform).
● Grey or Navy athletic sweatshirts and sweatpants are acceptable – P.E. uniform must be worn under sweats.
● Students will be required to have lace up athletic shoes and athletic socks.
Failure to wear athletic shoes will result in a uniform violation. (Absolutely, no flip
flops, boots, heels, sandals, slip-ons, flats, slippers etc…)
II. DRESSING OUT
● Always wear your own uniform.
● Take uniform home for cleaning regularly.
● Must dress in complete uniform everyday.
III. LOANER CLOTHES POLICY
● Loaner clothes are available
● A clean loaner uniform will be issued to students for ONE BLOCK. Each student must present his/her I.D. card in order to check out a loaner uniform.
● Students are not allowed to check-out loaner clothes for fellow students
● Refusal of Loaner clothing is considered defiance.
Lost loaner clothes are the responsibility of the borrower and a replacement fee will
be required.
IV. PE UNIFORM POLICY
TO INSURE THAT ALL PE STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM ELEANOR ROOSEVELT’S STANDARDS BASED PE CURRICULUM AND STATE OF THE ART ATHLETIC AND FITNESS FACILITIES; THEY MUST BE DRESSED FOR SUCCESS IN THEIR ELEANOR ROOSEVELT REGULATION PE UNIFORM
* NO SHORTS/SWEATPANTS AND SHIRT = UNIFORM VIOLATION/NON-SUIT
* NO SHIRT = UNIFORM VIOLATION/NON-SUIT
* NO SHORTS/SWEATPANTS = UNIFORM VIOLATION/NON-SUIT
* NO ATHLETIC SHOES = UNIFORM VIOLATION/NONSUIT
PE UNIFORMS MUST NOT BE WORN OVER OR UNDER STUDENTS REGULAR SCHOOL CLOTHES. ANY STUDENT WEARING THEIR PE UNIFORM OVER OR UNDER THEIR REGULAR SCHOOL CLOTHES WILL BE ISSUED A UNIFORM VIOLATION BY “ANY” PE TEACHER.
V. UNIFORM VIOLATION AGREEMENT
v There will be no additional warnings given.
v ANY AND ALL UNIFORM VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN A SATURDAY SCHOOL AND A PARENT PHONE CALL.
V. ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY
IPODS, MP3 PLAYERS, CELL PHONES OR ANY OTHER LISTENING/SPEAKING DEVICES ARE NOT ALLOWED. THESE DEVICES ARE A DISTRACTION AND IMPEDE THE STUDENTS PHYSICAL EDUCATION LEARNING EXPERIENCE. ANY VIOLATION AND CONSEQUENCES WILL BE UNDER THE INDIVIDUAL TEACHER’S DISCRETION.
VII. TARDIES AND TRUANCIES
● Students must be on their roll call number at the time of the P.E. tardy Whistle.
● Single period unexcused tardies and truancies will follow district policy.
VIII. LOCKER ROOM RULES AND PROCEDURES
● The use of Eleanor Roosevelt’s PE lockers are a privilege and any vandalizing will result in a fine and/or disciplinary action.
● Please see Physical education teachers for any locker problems.
● Keep locker locked at all times.
● The locker is for use only during your P.E. period. You may be in the locker room only before
and after your assigned PE block.
● Each student has his/her own locker – NO SHARING. USE ONLY THE LOCKER THAT IS
ASSIGNED TO YOU.
● NO FOOD, DRINK, GUM, AEROSOL SPRAY OR GLASS CONTAINERS will be allowed in the locker room and indoor/outdoor athletic and fitness facilities; any found will be confiscated and thrown away and a detention will be issued.
● Use the restroom during dress time. The locker room will be locked during activity time.
● Students are to remain in the designated area in front of the locker room until the passing bell rings.
● No one may use or be in the locker room when they are not in P.E. class.
● No loitering in the locker room after teachers have gone to class.
● No throwing of anything in the locker room.
● SAFETY FIRST! No jewelry or watches may be worn during PE class.
DO NOT BRING VALUABLES TO THE LOCKER ROOM. ANY VALUABLES BROUGHT AND STORED ARE THE STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY. THE PE DEPARTMENT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR “ANY” LOST OR STOLEN VALUABLES.
* Teachers are not responsible for lost or stolen PE clothes or other items.
Students check the PE lost and found for items that you have lost or misplaced.
All items left in the lost and found will be donated the end of each quarter.
* ANY INFRACTION OF THE RULES AND PROCEDURES WILL RESULT IN A
ONE-HOUR DETENTION OR REFERRAL.
IX. MEDICAL EXCUSES
A parent may excuse a student from participation one day at a time, for up to three consecutive days. A doctor’s note is required for any illness longer than three days. Please request that the Doctor be very specific when writing the note about what the student may or may not participate in. This will help the student participate in class as much as possible. A parent/doctors note does not excuse the student from dressing out. If a student is well enough to attend school they are required to dress out. Students should give their parent/doctors note to their instructor before roll. Please, see your PE teacher for their specific medical make-up policy.
X. ABSENCES
Please, see your PE teacher for their specific absence make-up policy.
Students may also attend a Mile Run Make-up at the end of each quarter. They should come dressed
and report to the track at 7:00 am on the following dates:
1st Semester: Nov. 19th, December 3rd and 10th
2nd Semester: May 13th, 20th, 27th
