I. Types of Scholarship for International Students

The Measures for the Administration of Scholarship for International Students of Jilin Huaqiao Universityof Foreign Languages

According to related documents issued by governments of Jilin province and the state, Jilin Huaqiao University of foreign languages scholarship for international students, combined with the actual condition of the University, is set up to attract students from around the world and improve the quality of cultivation by perfecting the incentive system in cultivating plan for international students

I. Types of Scholarship for International Students

Scholarship includes entrance scholarship for international students with excellent education background, scholarship for international students with excellent education background and entrance scholarship for excellent advanced students.

II. Standard of Scholarship for international Students

1. Entrance scholarship for international students with excellent education background: Cancellation of the tuition of the first year.

2. Scholarship for international students with excellent education background: Cancellation of the tuition of the second year.

3. Entrance scholarship for excellent advanced students: Cancellation of the tuition of the first semester.

III. Ratio of Holders amongInternational Students

1.Entrance scholarship for international students with excellent education background: 10% of the total enrollments of the year.

2. Scholarship for international students with excellent education background: 10% of the total enrollments of the year.

3. Entrance scholarship for excellent advanced students: 10% of the total enrollments of the year.

Ⅳ. Application Requirements for Scholarship of International Students

ⅰ. Application requirements for scholarship of freshmen with excellent specialties:

1.Students should promise that the Chinese laws, regulations and our school’s rules will be observed.

2.Students should have good comprehensive performances in character and learning in the original school.

3.The result of HSK should meet the requirements of the relevant specialty of our school.

4.Students have not got the scholarship from Chinese Government or other various types.

5.Our school will give priority to students with other outstanding performances.

ⅱ. Application requirements for scholarship of international students with excellent specialties:

1.Students should promise that the Chinese laws, regulations and our school’s rules will be observed.

2.Students should have got the stated credits of last academic year, and average score is not less than 90, each subject not less than 80 and the integrated ranks the top 30% among all students.

3.Students have not got the scholarship from Chinese Government or other various types.

4.Our school will give priority to students with other outstanding performances.

ⅲ. Application requirements for scholarship of freshmen who are advanced students:

1.Students should promise that the Chinese laws, regulations and our school’s rules will be observed.

2.Students should have good comprehensive performances in character and learning in the original school.

3.Duration of study should be no less than four months.

4.Students have not got the scholarship from Chinese Government or other various types.

5.Our school will give priority to students with other outstanding performances.

Ⅴ. Scholarship application Procedures for the International Students

ⅰ.Scholarship application procedures for the new international students with outstanding education background:

1. For the students who meet the application requirements, please visit the homepage of the International Exchanges Institute of Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages to download and fill in the relevant documents.

2. Post the Scholarship Application Form, the complete application documents and the Letter of Recommendation (written by the teachers or the mentor in the original university) to the International Exchanges Institute of Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages from March 1st to May 30th every year.

3. The university will announce the winning list of the Scholarship in June of the same year after the comprehensive assessment on the application documents.

ⅱ. Scholarship application procedures for the international students with outstanding education background:

1. For the students who meet the application requirements, please apply to the International Exchanges Institute with the Scholarship Application Form and the Transcript of the Previous Academic Year on July 1st~30th every year. Students who fail to do so during this period shall be deemed as voluntary renunciation. Students could visit the homepage of the International Exchanges Institute of Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages to download and fill in the relevant documents.

2. Comprehensive assessment from the subject teacher and the counselor should be filled in the recommendation bar of the Scholarship Application Form.

3. The university will determine and announce the winning list of the Scholarship before the end of August of the same year after the comprehensive assessment on the application documents.

ⅲ. Scholarship application procedures for the new outstanding visiting students:

1. For the students who meet the application requirements, please visit the homepage of the International Exchanges Institute of Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages to download and fill in the relevant documents.

2. Post the Scholarship Application Form, the complete application documents and the Letter of Recommendation (written by the teachers or the mentor in the original university) to the International Exchanges Institute of Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages from March 1st to May 30th every year.

3. The university will announce the winning list of the Scholarship in June of the same year after the comprehensive assessment on the application documents.

Ⅵ. The Scholarship Assessment Organization and Procedure for International Students

1. The school has set up the scholarship assessment team for international students. The school leaders in charge hold the post of the team leaders and the vice team leader is acted by the chief of the International Exchanges and Cooperation Department doubled as the dean of the International Exchanges and Cooperation Department. The Students’ Affairs office director of the International Exchanges and Cooperation Department serves as the secretary, and the secretariat is set up in the Students’ Affairs Office of the International Exchanges and Cooperation Department. The members are composed by the members in the International Exchanges Work Committee. And the main responsibilities of the assessment team are to formulate and modify those regulations, take charge of the work of the international students’ scholarship assessment, make a quota allocation plan and an overall leadership; coordination and supervision work of the school’s assessment work, and arbitrate the complaints.

2. The international students’ scholarship assessment work will insist on the principles of “Fairness, Impartiality, Transparency and Merit”, and according to the procedure of “first, students apply for the scholarship, and then the Scholarship Assessment Team reviews, and examined by the school”, and the school will announce the assessment results at last.

3. If there is any disagreement about the assessment results, the international students can lodge complaints to the school during the period of proclamation.

Ⅶ. Supplementary Provisions

1. The International Exchanges and Cooperation Department shall be responsible for the interpretation of these regulations.

2. Those regulations will come into effect since the date of release.
