"Amazing Grace"

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

I. Redeems from Sin

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

" verse 1 Amazing grace! how sweet the sound!/ That saved a wretch like me!/ I once was lost, but now am found;/ Was blind, but now I see

 Kings and presidents cannot pardon our transgressions.

 Silver and gold cannot buy forgiveness.

 Medicine and science cannot produce it.

 But Jesus Christ can redeem from sin.

 Jesus Christ, through the grace of God, can reach down into the gutter of despair, lift up the soul out of the miry clay, and redeem his soul from destruction

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

II. Relieves Our Fears

Psalms 56:4 (KJV)
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

verse 2"Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,/ And grace my fears relieved./ How precious did that grace appear/ The hour I first believed!"—

  1. Today's world is full of fear.
  2. Many are afraid to live, afraid to die,
  3. afraid of riches, afraid of poverty,
  4. afraid of youth, and afraid of old age.
  5. 1 John 4:18 (KJV)
    18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

III. Reassures Through Danger

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

verse 3"Thro' many dangers, toils, and snares,/ I have already come./ 'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,/ And grace will lead me home"—

  1. Ours is a dangerous world.
  2. Without are storms, floods, thefts, murders.
  3. Within are trials, hurts, loneliness, and misunderstandings.
  4. God's amazing grace is sufficient for those who put their trust in Him. Friends and loved ones may forsake us, but Jesus never fails

IV. Rewards Eternally

1 Peter 1:13 (KJV)
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

"The grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ"

verse 4"When we've been there ten thousand years,/ Bright, shining as the sun,/ We've no less days to sing God's praise/ Than when we first begun

  1. Earth's treasures and possessions are temporal.
  2. They wear out, rust, and decay.
  3. God's amazing grace lasts forever.
  4. It is good to live by, and it
  5. will be good to die by.
  6. Christ is preparing a mansion for those who love Him (John 14:1-3).
