Good Morning! Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Dukes Daily Show. I am , and I am. Today is Wednesday, October 17th and it is a D Day. Please stand for the pledge.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands. One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice, for all.

1.  A special thank you to all those who wore their PINK yesterday in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. As a faculty we raised approximately $220.00 for our DRESS CASUAL DAY. Go Team !!

2.  Do you still have that spare change hanging around the house and you don’t know what to do with it? During all lunch periods the MMS Faculty and staff will continue to sell “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” memorabilia. Every dollar raised will benefit our local American Cancer Society. Help make a difference and donate today.

3.  Reminder that PINK cupcakes will be available for $1.00 during ALL lunch periods today and tomorrow in our last effort to raise money for a cure.

4.  You can also purchase raffle tickets 3 for $1.00 all this week. The lucky winner will receive a “GIANT HOMEMADE CUPCAKE” to bring home to share with their family for the weekend !! The more raffles purchased, the probability of winning is in your favor.

5.  Homework House will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week. Students must go to main office to get permission slips first. It will be held in the library.

6.  The MMS Student Council is currently looking for nominees interested in the four major offices. Seventh graders can run for the positions of Treasurer and Vice President, and eighth graders can run for the positions of Secretary and President. Sixth graders will be welcome to attend our monthly meetings once elections are complete.

7.  All seventh and eighth graders interested in running for a position need to get a nomination form either from Mrs. DeStefano in Room 202 or Mr. Marallo in Room 214. These forms need to be filled out and returned to Mrs. DeStefano or Mr. Marallo by next Monday, October 22nd. All students who have returned a completed nomination form will also need to get an information sheet regarding the remainder of the election process.

8.  Any student interested in attending the Marlboro Boy's Youth Basketball Clinic should see Mr. Pesano in room 215 for an information sheet.

9.  The Yearbook Club will meet today until 4:00 in room 209.

10.  Men's Chorus will rehearse tomorrow until 4 pm. Sports students can leave to go to practice at 3:15 pm. Please report to Room 100 after Trip 2 for practice.

11.  Mix It Up Lunch Day is Monday October 30, 2012. As Forrest Gump says: "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gunna get." Are you ready to Mix It Up?

13.  Congratulations to the girl's volleyball team as they defeated New Paltz in 4 out of 6 exciting games. High scorers for the game were Taylor Aube and Marissa Mackey.

14.  Todays weather forecast calls for everyone to wake up and freeze on their way to school, then partly cloudy skies with a high of 62 degrees.

15.  The Math teachers must be controlling the word of the day this week. The word for today is function. Function is the purpose for whichsomething is designed or exists. Or in the Mathematical world, a relation between two sets in which one element of the second setis assigned to each element of the first set. But we all knew that already.

16.  We would like to wish a happy birthday to Michael Nania

17.  Todays lunch is mozzarella sticks, pasta, and green beans with a fruit cup.

Thanks for watching and Go Dukes!!
