SEARCHING
Basic search / §  Basic search allows a search to be done across all subscribed content.
§  Use the “Select Publication” field to select one or more publications. To search more than one publication, hold down the Ctrl. Key while selecting the other publication(s).
Advanced search / §  Search across individual fields and construct a complex query by combining fields e.g. court, keywords, date
§  Use the drop-down menus to select the fields you want to search
§  To search the full-text of documents, enter the terms in the search field and select “the complete document” from the drop-down menu
§  Add additional search criteria to improve the relevance of your search results, particularly when searching full-text of documents
§  Select the appropriate date range to narrow the search
Browsing / §  Select Browse by Subject from the left hand navigation menu to browse content by year, then by case name
SEARCH CONNECTORS / §  To search for a phrase, use quotes around the search terms e.g. “limitation rights”
§  Use the radio buttons to select the And/Or/And Not terms you want to add to the search
RESULTS
Viewing / §  Select the Article tab to view the document with search results highlighted in red
§  Select the Cross reference tab to view references to or from the document shown in the search screen
§  Select the Contents tab on the left navigation bar to use hyperlinks to different segments of the report
§  Select the Navigation tab on the left navigation bar to use links to a new search, recent searches or the browse function
Navigating / §  Use the icons in the top right of the screen to move forward and backward through search terms or refine your search
PRINTING / §  Use the icons in the top right of the screen to email, print or view the document in .rtf format
