RULES FOR VISITORS (inc. CONTRACTORS)

GENERAL INFORMATION

We welcome you to Thorntons, but we ask all visitors to the site, when entering our production areas, to observe the same stringent hygiene regulations, which our employees must observe.

Please read, complete and sign the Hygiene Regulations checklist below. Failure to comply with any of the regulations mentioned may result in you or your party not being allowed to continue with your visit.

Please note that cameras are not permitted in the production areas without prior agreement.

We handle some allergenic materials on site – particularly nuts. If you suffer from a nut allergy (or any other serious food allergies) please inform your host prior to entering any production or storage area on site.

IF YES, PLEASE ASK YOUR HOST FOR A BLUE METAL DETECTABLE PLASTER BEFORE ENTERING ANY PRODUCTION AREA

Please ensure the following are adhered to:

  • All persons entering the production areas must adhere to the company protective clothing and footwear policy.
  • Nail varnish/enamel is not permitted. Gloves can be provided if necessary.
  • Excessive perfume or aftershave should not be worn as it can taint products.
  • Person entering production areas must not wear jewellery, ONLY A PLAIN WEDDING RING.
  • Persons entering the production areas must ensure that their hands are washed thoroughly with appropriate soap and sanitiser. Hands must be washed thoroughly after using the toilet facilities.
  • Visitors must adhere to the company’s No Smoking policy i.e. in the smoking booth’s only.
  • Do not put yourself at risk, follow the safety advice and wear protective clothing as directed.
  • In the event of an evacuation, visitors must make their way to the fire evacuation point as informed by Main Reception.
  • No food or drink to be taken into the production areas.
  • No chewing gum is permitted on site.
  • Be aware of forklift trucks (you must give way to forklift trucks).
  • All vehicles to be parked in designated or approved areas. Where unloading is required, parking arrangements must be agreed.

ALL VISITORS MUST SIGN BELOW TO CONFIRM THAT THEY HAVE, TO THE BEST OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE, COMPLETED THIS DOCUMENT AND UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS.
