Humorous Indie Novel EmbracesLibertarian Seasteading

Floating City for the Massesforms the Backdrop for Coming-of-Age story.

PORTLAND, Ore. April 6, 2015 –Liberstead Publishing has launched the Indie novel Liberty Awash by author JW Bruns. This near-future story takes place in the year 2025, in the floating city called Liberstead. Protagonist Rudi Wu, a recent college graduate with a degree in Analytics, takes a position in a city based on the political ideal of having the smallest government possible. Thecity lives by the Ten Twemesand governs using a town meeting called a LiberShare. The result is a hilarious account of daily life in a city that values drugs, guns and multiple wives, but declines ID cards, currency and voting.

“A female techno-geek encountering self-proclaimed libertarians isolated in a floating community strikes me as a big juicy comedy,”says JW Bruns, author of the book. “This is a story of the future, where wall-size video displays, 3-D printers, and videosphere cameras have become commonplace. In the book, Rudi learns that human foibles like hypocrisy, judgments, and accidents can be solved in a libertarian way without intrusive government.”

With the book, Bruns has introduced unique graphic imagery for the floating city. The Liberstead flag features Liberty the Redeemer, with hands held in positions of peace and defense, on a black and yellow field indicating wealth with no government. Each community in the city has a flag. The Tocqueville flag uses the motto Veni, Vidi, 420; I came, I saw, I toked.

The Kindle version of Liberty Awash is available for $4.20 on Amazon. This version is available free on US Tax Day (April 15, 2015) and on International 420 Day (April 20, 2015). The paperback is 280 pages and costs $9.95. Liberty Awash features 40 chapter illustrations by the artist Ryan Incandenza.
