Human Resources Intern

Currently, Walgreens seeks Human Resources interns for summer 2007 within our Distribution Division.

This internship is more than a summer job: it can be the first step in a great career in Human Resources with the Walgreen company. The internship is designed for HR students who would like to spend the summer in a hands-on working environment. As a paid intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of HR areas including recruitment, benefits, training, safety, employee relations and more.

Our internship program is an excellent way for us to get to know you - and for you to get to know us as well as gain valuable insight to Human Resources within Walgreens distribution division.This internship provides the opportunity to work and learn in a team environment with experienced HR professionals in support of Walgreens mission and values.

Our HR Interns will:

  • spend time on the DistributionCenter floor with Team Members and Management, learning to do the jobs involved in each step
  • attend daily meetings and team-member involvement sessions
  • participate in training sessions and recruiting efforts
  • shadow members of the Human Resources team and get involved with Employee Relations
  • integrate all you’ve seen, heard and experienced as well as contribute to the success of the HR team through project work

Apply your skills in a live work setting and have meaningful learning experiences while building on and complementing your college program and working toward your career goals.

Our interns will contribute daily to our business objectives and become an integral part of our team. To ensure a supportive environment, our DC Human Resources Manager will act as a mentor, making sure you are fully involved and satisfied with your internship experience.

Qualifications: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management with two to four semesters remaining prior to graduation. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above; ability to work independently and effectively under deadlines; attention to detail; excellent communication and organizational skills.
