CLIL PROJECT : OCTOBER-DECEMBER 2014

ART

-HUMAN BODY STANDING

One hour and half lesson : the teacher draws on the blackboard showing to the pupils how to divide the drawing paper into eight parts . The teacher uses L2 to name the parts of the body she’s drawing. When they finish drawing and painting, the pupils repeat the vocabulary.

-HUMAN BODY SITTING

One hour and half lesson: teacher and pupils repeat the vocabulary related to their previous works. Then start the second drawing as done before.

-FACE

One hour and half lesson: the teacher gives the pupils a paper model to draw the edge of the face, then the lesson goes on drawing and naming in L2 the various parts of the face. At the end the teacher helps the pupils to describe their drawings, speaking about the features of the faces and using adjectives about hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears ( colours, long/short, big/small).

(The lessons took place on three Friday afternoons as Art lessons)

SCIENCE

-HUMAN BODY, bones and muscles. The circulatory system

One hour lesson.

The teacher gives photocopies to the pupils and shows on the “LIM” the same picture, then explains in L2: long, small and flat bones and their function (they support and make you move).

Then names only a few muscles and says their general function (they make you move).

Only the main elements are named: heart, blood, veins…The children colour in red and blue the two different ways the blood runs from and to the heart.

-HUMAN BODY, the digestive system; the respiratory system.

One hour lesson.

The teacher acts as for the previous lesson. Only some organs are named; the pupils are guided to fill in the gaps and order the words.

P.E.

Nell’ambito di un’ora di lezione di ed. motoria, mezz’ora viene svolta in L2 dando semplici consegne: stand on a line, run slowly, run fast, walk, stop, turn right, look at me , put your left/right arm out/up/down, foot…, leg…, touch your right ear…,keep your arms out/up.., touch your knees/shoulders, wave your arms, hop on your left/right foot…, bend..etc.

LANGUAGE/MUSIC

Six lessons, one hour each.

Listening, reading, writing and speaking activities, vocabulary (nouns and adjectives) about the body and face (human and alien). Singing and acting.

TEST

Orale in L1 (durata un’ora) sugli apparati studiati.

One hour speaking test (health, five senses, body/face description, human body).

One hour reading and comprehension, writing test (body/ face description, body vocabulary).
