Standards:S7L2c- Explain that cells are organized into tissues, tissues into organs, organs into systems, and systems into organisms.

S7L2e- Explain the purpose of the major organ systems in the human body (i.e., digestion, respiration, reproduction, circulation, excretion, movement, control, coordination, and for protection from disease).

Objective: To create a booklet that describes the structure and function of the major organ systems in the human body.

Directions:

For each body system you will…

  1. Explain the overall function of the system.
  2. Identify and provide the functions of the main organs of the system.
  3. Describe the interactions with other systems in the human body.
  4. Include a picture of the system or an individual organ in the system (some illustrations will be provided for you, some you will have to find on your own).
  5. Include information regarding the rubric category you created on your own.

- You must create one additional topic of interest for your project. This can be anything you would like, but it must be applicable to ALL systems… so plan ahead! (Acceptable examples: interesting facts, trivia, statistics, diseases of the system, etc)

  1. Include any and all information given to you in class (vocab, worksheets, etc).
