Directions and Gate Entry

From the North and South: Take the New York State Thruway to exit 17. Get on I-84 West to exit 6. Turn right at end of ramp. Turn right onto Route 17K west. Barron Road (HQ and entrance to grounds) will be a few miles down on your left.
From the East: Take I-84 West to exit 6. Turn right at end of ramp. Turn right onto Route 17K west. Barron Road (HQ and entrance to grounds) will be a few miles down on your left.
From the West: Take I-84 East to exit 5. Turn left at end of ramp onto Route 208. Turn right at traffic light onto route 17K east. Barron Road (HQ and entrance to grounds) will be a few miles down on your right.
After turning onto Barron Road you will come to a gate. This gate will be open and manned between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., at which time it will be locked per DEC regulations. As the gate must be kept closed and locked at all times, we have put our lock on a chain with the DEC lock on the other end. The combination for the HHHRA lock is 3333. If you open the gate to leave the grounds at any time, you must close and re-lock the gate as you found it. If you have any questions or problems with the gate the day of the test, please call Kim Mandarino on her cell (845) 258-0352.
Field Test Headquarters: After entering the gate, proceed down Barron Road to the test headquarters. Please check in with either the Test Secretary, Kim Mandarino, or the Head Marshall, Joy DeVincenzi at the check in table each morning. They will direct you to the marshall for your stake who will check you in. Please enjoy breakfast at the headquarters while our workers set up the tests. The marshall for your stake will lead you to the test area 15 minutes before the start of the test. We appreciate your cooperation in this procedure as the DEC is cracking down on car and truck traffic on the grounds.
***Please Note: Stewart State Forest is a multi-use facility. There will be other groups and individuals using the grounds, especially if the weather is nice. Please drive very slowly on any of the roads ensuring the least disturbance to wildlife, bikers, hikers, etc.
