  1. Requirement Description

Describe the requirement (gap). Include a description of the delivered PeopleSoft functionality.

Currently the State of Connecticut has a custom system, ATC, to facilitate the Examination process. This process records all candidates received and if they are going to be accepted for the examination or rejected. If accepted or rejected they are sent a notification letter. PeopleSoft’s job requisition process can be used to handle the examination process. PeopleSoft as delivered, can produce a listing of all candidates that have applied for the job requisition and if the candidate is going to be accepted to take the examination they can be scheduled for the examination using the interview pages. However, if they are rejected, there is no location on PeopleSoft to indicate this status and DAS would not have a complete listing of who was rejected and when the rejection letter was sent.

The Central DAS Examination Unit will need the ability to search on all statuses of candidates. (Accepted/Rejected) in order to schedule them for the examination or to send them a letter to inform them they have been rejected. The Examination Unit would need a mechanism to track the status of the candidates.

During the year 2000, 363 individual examinations were given and this could be up to 10,000 candidates for one examination. Section 10, Section 5-216 (a).

PeopleSoft is planning to expand the examination functionality in the future and this functionality may be adapted for the Reemployment/SEBAC process. The State of Connecticut will be continuing to work with PeopleSoft to meet the states needs for Reemployment/Sebac/Examination processing.

Option 1. Create a query to select all candidates that have applied for the job requisition/examination and download listing into a worksheet (Excel). Maintain the status of accepted/rejected and effective dates outside of PeopleSoft.
