1  Introduction

On 23rd February 2017 Version 2017.02 (V2017.02) of the HR Portal HR & Payroll self-serve application was made available to users. This was the first release of 2017.

This document provides a high level overview of the changes, if required full details are available in the individual guidance notes relating to each piece of functionality.

Changes to the HR Portal System included:

·  Addition of a part day flag on the Special Leave Request wizard

·  Confirmation pop up where quit is selected at the end of wizards

·  Vehicle Expiry date description

1.1  Objectives and Scope

The objective and scope of this document is to keep HR Portal users up to date with changes to the HR Portal HR & the Payroll self-serve application. The HR Service Centre has an ongoing commitment to develop the ‘HR Portal’ and provide it’s users with an efficient and effective way of submitting changes to the HR Service Centre.

1.2  Background

The HR Service Centre is developing the ‘HR Portal’ (the HR Self-service intranet application) as part of its ongoing aim to continuously improve service delivery and support the Council’s e-government agenda.

Managers are kept up-to-date with improvements via a series of Managers’ Briefings and upgrade documents following the upgrade of the system.

2  Summary of Changes

Version 2017.02 of the HR Portal system launches a number of new features accessible to managers, administrators and general users.

2.1  Additional Manager / Administrator Features

2.1.1  Confirmation pop up on quit at the end of wizards

Following feedback where managers and administrators have experienced issues where they have quit wizards before they have been complete, a pop up message has been added to the end of the wizards which prompts users that a wizard has not been saves giving them the opportunity to submit the wizard and complete it

2.1.2  Part day flag on the Special Leave Request wizard

To ensure that no notification of part days taken are notified to the pension’s authority a Yes or No flag has been added to the Special Leave Request Wizard. Yes or No should be selected as appropriate from the drop down list to show whether the leave is for less than a full day or not.

2.2  Additional User Features

2.2.1  Amended Vehicle Expiry date description

The expiry date on the Mileage and Expenses vehicle information page has been reformatted to show the date of expiry rather than the number of days until/after the expiry date.

2.2.2  Part day flag on the Special Leave Request wizard

To ensure that no notification of part days taken are notified to the pension’s authority a Yes or No flag has been added to the Special Leave Request Wizard. Yes or No should be selected as appropriate from the drop down list to show whether the leave is for less than a full day or not.

2.2.3  Miscellaneous

A number of other small changes have also been made across the Portal to improve user experience.
