The position of HR Manager encompasses the implementation, administration, operations, and on-going evaluation of all Human Resource and Personnel for EPIC Waters.

Position Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and administer human resources standards and procedures for all EPIC Waters outlets and personnel.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all associates. Promote EPIC Waters “open-door” policy to all associates so they are aware that there is always someone they can count on to listen and discuss their concerns or questions.
  • Oversee the front office administrative function, ensuring consistent, effective, and professional, communications and maintain a welcoming and warm property image.
  • A true hands-on approach to associate relations, as well as the ability to successfully monitor the “pulse” of associates to ensure an elevated level of employee buy-in and engagement.
  • Work effectively with ARM-EPIC corporate HR Director to ensure compliance in all aspects of day-to-day HR, employee relations, standard operating procedures, safety, and legal compliance for the property.
  • Assists in recruitment effort for all non-exempt and seasonal workers, posts jobs, works with supervisors to be aware of current staffing needs. Helps screen and interview candidates, conducts reference checks, assists in extending job offers and setting up new hire orientations.
  • Conducts new-employee orientations and ensures all new hire paperwork is complete and correct. Enters all new hires into Paychex payroll system.
  • Ensures that any necessary authorizations, ID Badges, or other Center Edge POS required information is completed.
  • Issues uniforms to new hires, making sure to have them sign uniform agreement. Tracks to ensure that all uniforms are returned at employee exit.
  • Reports all new hires to the State of Texas on required form or website.
  • Provides comprehensive and on-going job training, ensuring associates have all knowledge and tolls available to make them successful. Engages the department managers to set the standards and knowledge base for their respective departments.
  • Monitors employee performance, ensures performance reviews are conducted on a prompt, consistent basis for all associates. Engages department managers to evaluate
  • Completes appropriate status/change paperwork to ARM Corp payroll offices, as necessary. Communicates all payroll or employee data related information promptly.
  • Assist in bi-weekly payroll administration, including time edits, submission of requested time off, hours tracking, correct employee information, etc.
  • Works with ARM Corporate Payroll department to ensure all payroll is correct.
  • Assist GM to implement and administer measures of employee satisfaction.
  • Conducts exit interviews for departing associates.
  • Takes part in staff and manager meetings, keeps minutes and distributes to all.
  • Conducts the property Safety Committee meetings on regular required basis. Tracks attendance, requires and encourages participation and input for all departments.
  • Works with EPIC insurance carriers to ensure proper incident reporting procedures, safety training, reporting, compliance, insurance experience rating, etc.
  • Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Practices appropriate confidentiality in dealing with company and employee information.
  • Although this position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, the HR and Office Specialist serves as a coach and mentor for all departments.

Position Specific Requirements- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND two (2) years’ experience working in HR setting, preferably with some level of supervision.
  • Must be enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Certification from Professional HR organization is highly preferred (HRCI-SPHR, SHRM-CP, or other accredited HR Institution).

Performance Measurement:

The measure of excellent performance for the HR and Office Specialist at Epic Waters is measured directly by the satisfaction of EPIC Waters associates. Other measures of performance include: associate turnover rates, proper regulatory compliance, low rates of unemployment and worker’s comp claims, levels of compliance with all HR related regulations, and much more.
