HR Data Administrator I

Purpose

Purpose:

Supports and assists the Office of Human Resources in employee onboarding, operational support, coordination with other departments, conducting employee orientation, processing, tracking and processing personnel actions for UT Arlington employees.

Essential Functions

Function 1:

Provide support for the Office of Human Resources with new employee orientation. Is responsible for the maintenance of personnel records.

Function 2:

Will assist the HR Team with operational duties, and coordinating with other departments regarding employee maintenance and operational changes.

Function 3:

Will conduct briefings and answer questions pertaining to benefits, employment, policies, and programs at UT Arlington. Will conduct educational training and informational sessions for UT Arlington employees in Human Resources processes and policies. Works with functional departments to resolve issues and establish best practice and process improvements.

Function 4:

Will respond to requests for information and advise departments on Human Resources procedures based on state and federal laws and UT Arlington policies.

Function 5:

Will assist the Business Analyst in creating and analyzing reports to correct errors, monitor processes, and improve services.

Function 6:

Specific PeopleSoft functions include: enter all hires, rehires, reclassifications, and transfers on job screens and via Template Based Hire; monitor and maintain the manage hire queue on a daily basis; enter, track, and maintain all faculty contract data; add employee instances for employees with multiple assignments; create POI's (w/ exception to those created by the Benefits Office); complete I-9 process for new employees and recertifications for existing employees;

Function 7:

review and approve name changes and marital status changes (coordinate with the Benefits Office); enter employee job data changes (other than pay rate changes initiated by the manager or delegate); maintain the Benefits Administration System Activity Log (BAS) on a daily basis

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of two years Human Resources experience in employment, records, or compensation. Effective judgment, tact, diplomacy, and discretion required in all matters. Experience processing large amounts of documents. Basic understanding of State and Federal employment laws. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in higher education. Ability to effectively use personal computer and working knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar ERP software.
