How to tell which retirement plan you are enrolled in:

If you are enrolled in a retirement plan through the State Retirement and Pension System (SRPS) of Maryland, “St Emp Alt Pen” appears on your Earnings Statement as follows:

RIGHT SIDE OF Employee's Earnings Statement

TAXES/DEDUCTIONS / CURRENT / YEAR TO DATE
ST EMP ALT PEN / xxx.xx / x,xxx.xx

If you are enrolled in one of the Optional Retirement Plans (ORP) available to Exempt employees, it would appear as follows:

TIAA-CREF appears on Earnings Statement as “TIAA NCTR ORP”

Fidelity appears on Earnings Statement as “FDLTY NCTR ORP”

RIGHT SIDE OF Employee's Earnings Statement

TAXES/DEDUCTIONS / CURRENT / YEAR TO DATE
TIAA NCTR ORP / 0 / 0

Or

TAXES/DEDUCTIONS / CURRENT / YEAR TO DATE
FDLTY NCTR ORP / 0 / 0

In addition to the mandatory retirement plans above, the voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (SRAs) would appear as follows on the Right Side of the Employee’s Earning Statement:

TIAA-CREF appears on Earnings Statement as “TIAA 403b or 401k or 457”

MSRP: (Nationwide Retirement Solutions) appears on Earnings Statement as

“Def Comp”

Fidelity appears on Earnings Statement as “FDLTY 403B or 457B”
