1. Log on
Open an Internet browser.
In your browser window's address box, enter this URL:
Step 1: Click a link above, or enter the URL into the address bar
Step 2: Enter your UNet ID and password. This is the same way you log on to your computer. Never share your password with anyone.
Step 3: Click "Sign In" button
Step 4: To log off, click "Sign Out" button
If either the user ID or password is invalid, the system will display an error message below the Sign In button. You'll have to reenter the User ID and Password. After three attempts, the system will lock; therefore, contact a security administrator for assistance: Ofer Ben-Gai (64536), Xiaofeng Ma (64564) or Richard Trudel (64532).
2. How to run nVision reports
(TIP: PRINT THIS PAGE AS YOUR CHEATSHEET)
Navigation to run an nVision report :
Main Menu
Reporting Tools
Define Report Request
Search
Click on the report to be run
Beside the “As of Reporting Date:” dropdown arrow, click on “Specify Date” and then enter the date you want the report run as of
IMPORTANT: Under “Type:” Be sure the Type is “Web” (If it says File, choose Web from the dropdown arrow. (You must then click “Save.”)
Click on “Run Report”
Server Name: from dropdown, choose “PSNT”
Click OK
Click on Process Monitor
Click Refresh occasionally until Run Status says “Success”
Go to Reporting Tools (on Main Menu)
Click Report Manager – (the Administration Tab will appear – see tabs top of page).
Click on Report Name
Open or Save to file

CLICK SEARCH. SELECT THE REPORT YOU WISH TO RUN.
The following screen willappear:
If it shows “File” click on dropdown arrow and choose “Web.”
Click “Save” – YOU MUST SAVE!
Click on the dropdown arrow beside “As of Reporting Date” and then click on Specify and enter a date.
Click on “Run Report.”
Click on the dropdown arrow beside “Server Name” and click on “PSNT.”
The RUN DATE and RUN TIME default to the current date and time, respectively. You may change it to a later date and time.
Click “OK”
Page reverts to this screen. Click PROCESS MONITOR to track progress of the report. Click REPORT MANAGER to view the report.
Below is a sample screen from “Process Monitor.” The history of report operations including drilldowns is displayed here. To see old processes, you can change the “Last” number of days and Refresh.
You can also find PROCESS MONITOR also via PEOPLETOOLS.
“SUCCESS”under RUN STATUS means that the PeopleSoft operation was completed. However, SUCCESS does not always mean that the report was generated. You will see the output – REPORT- or error messages in REPORT MANAGER )
3. When there is an ERROR.
If the RUN STATUS indicates ERROR, Click DETAILS.
Then, click the MESSAGE LOG to view the error message.

More often than not, the reason a report will not run when a new account, program or deptid was created and theTree which the report uses had not been updated.
4. How to open a report you ran.
Click on “Reporting Tools” on the Main Menu
Click on “Report Manager” (Click on the “Administration” Tab.)
Click on the Report Name
Click “Open with Microsoft Excel” or “Save File” on your computer
5. How to create a Reportbook.
If you want to run several reports in one batch, go to ReportingTools>PsnVision>Define ReportBook.
That will bring you to the Report Book Definition page. If you have creating a reportbook, click the ADD NEW VALUE and define or give a name for the RUN CONTROL ID. The next time you want to run this REPORT BOOK, you will click FIND AN EXISTING VALUE. Then either click SEARCH or enter the RUN CONTROL ID that you have created.
Click Add.
6. How to run Drilldown reports.
Click on a cell (no formula totals) to request a drilldown.
Click “nVisionDrill.”
Click “Drill”
Click on the drill option desired.
Click on “refresh” repeatedly until drill appears
Click on name to see drilldown detail
NOTE: Excel security needs to be at “Medium” in order to allow the drilldown to open. Also, server popup blocker needs to allow popups from “fin.brandeis.edu”
