Guidelines to Sponsor aSocial & Recreation Eventfor Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF).
Keen to spend time with CCF children and their familiesto bring them joy and fun? We encourage corporate, associations and group of individuals to organise social and recreational (S&R) events for our beneficiaries.
It will be helpful if your event fulfils one of our objectives:
- Promote the psychosocial and intellect development of our beneficiaries.
- Promote understanding and integration of our beneficiaries into the community.
- Promote family bonding.
- Bring joy to our beneficiaries.
- Allow caregivers to take a break and have a peace of mind that the children are well taken care of by professionals and volunteers.
To assist you in your planning process, below are some guidelines:
- Theme –A theme brings structure to your event.
- Date – If you choose a weekday, it should preferably be during the school holidays (March, June, Sept & Nov/Dec). For weekend events, try to avoid the examination periods.
- Time – If it is a morning event, try to do it during the mid-morning. 10 a.m. will be a good start time. In-door activities are preferred in the afternoon. Try to end the programme by 8 p.m. We recommend programme duration of between 1.5 hours and 3.5 hours, so as not to exhaust the children.
- Venue – Is it going to be out-doors or in-doors? Please stand by a wet-weather plan, if you are organising an out-door activity.
- Programme– draw up a detailed programme.
- F&B – when catering for refreshments, please advise whether food is HALAL, no pork/no lard or vegetarian.
- Transport – if the venue of your event is not near any MRT station, it will be good to provide a two-way transport to and from the nearest MRT station. It is recommended that you choose a MRT station where your bus can park whilst waiting.
- Invitees – please select your target group of invitees based on the following:
- Group size – how many people do you plan to invite? Does your invitation includethe child’s siblings and caregivers? It is recommended that the group size be limited to 20 to 30 people only (including siblings and caregivers).
- Age group – what age group doyou plan to invite? CCF children are aged from 0 to 19 years. If you plan to invite those aged 12 and below, it is recommended that you include their siblings and caregivers.
- Foreign beneficiaries – are you open to inviting non-Singaporeans? This group of beneficiaries does not receive financial aid from CCF, but we encourage organisers to include them for S&R events.
- Volunteers – how many of your volunteers are joining in this activity? Please note that CCF would usually nominate one or two staff to help out in the activity, plus one volunteer for medical support and one volunteer photographer.
The above guidelines are provided to help your initial planning, please do not hesitate to contact us for further discussion.
Attached proposal is be submitted a month before the event, confirmation will be provided once approval is granted by the management.
We thank you for your effort and support for children with cancer and their families.
