HOW TO GET FROM TOKYO AIRPORTS TO THE TOKYO 2010 CONFERENCE SITE

From TokyoInternationalAirport= NaritaAirport.

Location: 1-2 hours outside of central Tokyo in neighboring prefecture (state) of Chiba

Make your luggage light, because in Tokyo, you walk a lot, climb many stairs, and ride crowded trains.

Taxi from Airport to NakanoSunPlaza: about 20,000 yen or $220.

Much less are 3 public transport lines from NaritaAirport:

Keisei Line, JR Line, and Limousine Bus

1)KEISEI TRAIN LINE (Least expensive) (1290yen or 2210 yen)

In airport lobby, take escalator down to train station.

Be sure to go to Keisei Line, not JR Line.

Buy through ticket (ticket for more than 1 line): Airport-Nippori-Shinjuku-Nakano.

Cost of through ticket: Limited Express (Tokkyu) = 1290 yen; Skyliner = 2210 yen

Take Limited Express (Tokkyu) or Skyliner to Nippori.

Ride for about 1 hour 15 min. on Tokkyu, 1 hour on Skyliner

Get off at Nippori, one stop before last stop of Ueno. Most people will get off here.

Place your through ticket in the turnstile machine and GET IT BACK AGAIN.

If you don't buy a through ticket, you must give up your Keisei ticket (1000 yen or 1920 yen)

to Nippori and buy a JR (290 yen) ticket to Nakano.

Change to Platform 11, Yamanote Line(silver and green color) in Tabatadirection

Ride for about 20 min. through Tabata, Komagome, Ikebukuro, Takadanobaba, etc.

Get off at Shinjuku.

Change to Platform 11 or 12, Chuo Line (Central Line, orange color) in Nakanodirection

Get off at 1st stop, Nakano.

Go out North Exit. 1 min. walk to NakanoSunPlaza.

2) NARITA EXPRESS (NEX) on JR TRAIN LINE (3280 yen)

In airport lobby, take escalator down to train station.

Be sure to go to JR Line, not Keisei Line.

Buy NEX through ticket: Airport-Tokyo-Nakano for 3280 yen.

Take Platform 1, NEX

Ride for about 1 hour.

Get off atTokyo Station.

Change to Platform 1 or 2, Chuo Line= Central Line (orange color) in Shinjuku direction.

Ride for about 20 min.

Get off at Nakano, 1 stop after Shinjuku.

Go out North Exit. 1 min. walk to NakanoSunPlaza.

3) LIMOUSINE BUS (3150 yen)

In airport lobby, at Limousine Bus counter buy ticket to Shinjuku Train Station

Cost: 3000 yen

Get on Limousine Bus to Shinjuku Train Station

Ride for about 1 hour 30 min. to 2 hours

Get off at Shinjuku Train Station

Go into JR Shinjuku Train Station, buy JR ticket, take Platform 11 or 12, Chuo Line (Central Line, orange color) in Nakano, Mitaka direction

Cost: 150 yen

Ride for about 5 min.

Get off at 1st stop, Nakano.

Go out North Exit. 1 min. walk to NakanoSunPlaza.

north of Nakano Train Station.

2. Three stations to the east is Shinjuku Train Station (Shinjuku Sanchome written on it).

*From Nakano station North exit, it's 1min. walk to NakanoSunPlaza.

By Train
Option1: From Haneda Airport, take KeikyuAirport line to Shinagawa Station (400 yen). Take JR Yamanote Line (bound for Shibuya, Shinjuku) to Shinjuku Station. Take JR Chuo Line (Express) to Nakano Station (210 yen).

By Bus
Option2: From Haneda Airport take Limousine bus to NakanoSunPlaza.
