General Information
This years Dorset Open Air Weapons Competition is once again being hosted by Ferndown Gun Club at Ferndown Sports & Leisure Centre. Ferndown is easily reached from the A31 and is close to the local tourist centres of Poole & Bournemouth. The sports centre has a café serving hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks. There is also a licensed bar with TV. Families are welcome and will be able to take advantage of the sports centre facilities (inc. the swimming pool) at member prices. There is plenty of free parking and caravans are permitted with shower facilities available in the sports centre. (Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing a caravan). There is plenty of accommodation close by in Ferndown or the neighbouring historic market town of Wimborne Minster.

Competitions
10m Air Pistol/Rifle Competitions in classes (inc X) with concurrent Ladies and Junior Competitions. - . Squadded Entry.
Competitions for Club Teams of three and County teams will also be run concurrently with entries taken on the day.
All pistols and rifles must comply with weapons control and the competition will be run in the spirit of the NSRA rules.
All competitors taking part in the 2x60 shot aggregate competition will automatically have their first 60 shots entered into the 60 shot match at no extra charge.
The prize giving for all competitions will be held in the Sports Centre Bar after the last detail on Sunday 15th September 2002.

How to find Ferndown Gun Club
Ferndown Gun Club has its base at the Ferndown Sports & Leisure Centre, Cherry Grove, Ferndown, East Dorset. The Club is easily reached from local towns, such as Bournemouth & Poole.
Cherry Grove is off Church Road, Ferndown, which is easily accessible from the A31, A347 and A348. The Club entrance is situated on the balcony area between the main squash courts and the swimming pool. The sports centre has both a cafeteria & bar and other activities for non-shooters.
