How to create your Profile in Turnitin.com

  1. Go to the website
  2. Choose “Create Account”
  3. Enter your email address ______
  4. Enter a password (you must remember it!)______
  5. Select user type as “student”
  6. Enter the class ID______ You will get this from your teacher.
  7. Enter class enrollment password______(case sensitive) Same as #6.
  8. Select a secret question and answer ______.(Make sure you remember the answer to your secret question)
  9. Enter your first and last names (must be the names used in class.
  10. Re-enter your email and password you plan to use for turnitin.com.
  11. Choose “I agree to user policy”
  12. You should now be enrolled. You may submit a paper now, or you may log on at another time to submit a paper.

(Students may be required to provide the teacher with their email address and password as they create their profile since so many of them forget between assignments)

How to submit a Paper to Turnitin.com

  1. To log on:

-type your email address that you provided when you created your profile

-type your personal password

2. Select a class

3. Find the assignment to which you will be submitting a paper and click on Submit

4. Click on the drop down menu and choose File Upload or Cut and Paste

5. To File Upload

Click on “Browse” button

Find your saved paper

Click on it so it shows up in the box next to the “Browse” button

Create a title in the “Title” Box’

6. To Cut and Paste

Be sure to copy the entire paper you are submitting

Paste the paper (you may press Ctrl V or right click on your mouse and find “Paste”)

Create a name for your paper in the “Title” box

Click on “Submit”

7. It will ask you if this is the paper you want to submit. If not, go back. If it is,

click on “Yes Submit”

8. Once you have submitted your paper, your teacher may have you print the final page as a “digital receipt”.

9. Log off before exiting
