How To Contact Pat Galloway for Speaking Engagements
Hopefully, you’ve had a chance to hear Dr. Patricia Galloway speak at an ACPA-sponsored event. If you have, you know how powerful a speaker she is. Regardless of whether you’ve heard her or just heard about her, Dr. Galloway makes a lasting impression on your audience. Her frank discussion regarding engineers’ risk of liability when they choose a material, notably HDPE pipe versus concrete pipe, contains important information they need to know. When planning your next event, consider contacting Dr. Galloway to speak and inviting Municipality Engineers, Dept. of Transportation representatives, Consultants, Developers, Congressmen, and Senators.
Testimonials:
The ACPA has contracted Dr. Galloway to speak at the 2005 and 2006 Fall Short Course Schools with excellent reviews.
Mike Kusch of Sherman Dixie Concrete Industries hosted a seminar for the Tennessee Concrete Pipe Association where 110 guests were in attendance. Dr. Galloway spoke of the many risks engineers face in specifying pipeline systems. Key points of understanding and enforcing well-written specifications as well as post installation testing importance were covered. “There are many things an engineer is liable for when he places his signature and stamp on the plans. Many do not fully understand the impact” stated Dr.Galloway. The audience was very receptive to her message, and many left intending to fortify their own piping specifications to reduce the risk and liability to themselves, their firm, their clients and the public.
Randy Wahlen of The Mountain States Concrete Pipe Association contracted Pat Galloway to lecture at two seminars on Risk and Liability in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. With more than 65 people at each seminar, the response was well worth the cost. A DOT representative was interested in bringing Pat Galloway to their annual DOT conference. One engineer stated that "if you have to watch out for all of the issues with HDPE, why wouldn't you just use concrete pipe?” According to Randy, Pat's approach and response was excellent. She's not telling you what type of pipe to use, only to make sure to understand and follow all of the specifications to protect your professional liability. This is a message that needs to be heard by all engineers and designers.
