How to Apply for a Clinical Instructor Position with the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing


This guide is intended to assist applicants with the process of using the LinkingHealthProfessionals (LHP) system to submit an application for a Clinical Instructor position to the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (LSBFON).

Offer Letters types are Stipends, Secondments and CUPE (for students only).

Please note that supported browsers for the LHP system are Internet Explorer 7+ and Firefox 3+.

Please note that you must hold a Canadian RN License in Ontario in order to apply.

If you are a student, for CUPE letter offers, if you accept the offer you also agree to the following:

“I confirm that I will be registered as a University of Toronto student or PDF on the date that this appointment begins. I understand that if I should cease to be registered as a University of Toronto student or PDF during the period of this appointment, for any reason other than convocation, I must immediately notify my supervisor, and my appointment may be terminated.”

Please follow the steps starting on the next page of this document. Please pay particular attention to step 7.

Step 1: Go to this link https://www.linkinghealthprofessionals.com/index.cfm and you will be presented with this page:

Step 2: If you already have an LHP userid, sign in by entering your userid and password here, click on “Sign In” and go to step 8. Otherwise, go to step 3.

Step 3: If you do not have an LHP userid, click on “Become a Member” to register here:


Step 4: You will be presented with this screen. Enter the information on the page and click on “Create Account”.

The following message will appear on your screen.

Step 5: Check your email inbox for information and follow the instructions to activate your account. Here is a sample email of what you can expect to receive:

Step 6: The link provided in the email will take you to this screen and will confirm your registration in the background. Do not sign in yet but follow the instructions on the next page.

Step 7: This link will add the CI Recruitment module as an option to your personal LHP menu: https://linkinghealthprofessionals.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=CIRecruitFront.ApplicantRegisterForm&partner_id=1

You will be presented with the screen where you can sign in by entering your userid and password here. Click on “Sign In” .

Step 8: Note the options on the left menu will vary depending on your profile. Click on “Applications” which refers to system modules to open up all of the modules available to you.

Step 9: Click on “CI Recruitment”.


Step 10: Click here:

Step 11: Click on “Continue Application” to begin your Clinical Instructor application form.


Step 12: You will be presented with the screen below and if an application recruitment cycle is in effect, you will be able to start entering your application by clicking on “here”. If an application cycle is not in effect, come back within a few days to check again.


Step 13: You will be presented with the Application Form. You can enter your cover letter directly in the space provided.


Step 14: When you click here you will be taken to the Curriculum Vitae (CV) creation/update module. The list below the link shows the mandatory sections and the optional sections to be filled out and it also shows your progress. You can always save your data and log back in anytime in the future to continue to enter your CV and application information.

Step 15: You will be presented with this CV creation/update module. Click here or here to enter data.

Step 16: Enter your profile data and click on “Save”.

Step 17: Continue entering the remaining mandatory sections. You can also enter data in the optional sections as it pertains to you.

Step 18: If you make an error, you can go back into any section and hit the “Delete” button to delete the entire section of data. If you have more than one degree you can add more by clicking on “Add New”. Don’t forget to save your data.

Step 19: This screen shows an example of teaching experience data. This section is used to enter the total number years of teaching and nursing experience.

Step 20: Once you have entered the CV data, click on “Return to Application” to continue with the Clinical Instructor Application form data entry process.

Step 21: Click on all of your areas of Clinical Expertise. The Comments section is optional. Please select when you are available to work.

You can save your data at any time and when you are ready to submit your application, click on “Submit”. Please note that once you submit your application, you will not be able to change any of the data.

Step 22: You will see this message when your application is successfully submitted.

Step 23: You can sign out of the LHP system by clicking on “Sign Out”.
