Quarles Easy Payment Budget Plan
Frequently Asked Questions
Wondering how Quarles can help you manage your fuel expenses with our Easy Payment Budget Plan? Here’s how it works:
How do you estimate my monthly payment?
We will estimate your fuel usage for the plan period based on several factors, including:
- Tank size
- Usage history
- What you use your fuel for (whole home heating, appliances, etc.)
We then divide the estimated cost of your fuel into 11 monthly payments, and you will have one month at the end of each plan period to settle any outstanding costs.
Why 11 months?
This 11-month plan allows you to pay less each month to keep your monthly costs low.
How do I avoid owing money at the end of the plan period?
- Our goal throughout the year will be to minimize any settlement payments needed. We will review your payment amounts mid-season and make any adjustments if necessary.
- If you anticipate a large change in your fuel consumption, please call 800.201.4328 to discuss options that may meet your needs.
- You can always pay more than the recommended budget amount if you want to minimize your settlement balance. However, it is important to pay your payment each month, even if you have a credit.
What if I pay too much/too little?
- If at any time during the budget season you have a credit balance, your account will earn interest, and payments will build up funds toward your next delivery.
- If you have a debit balance, all payments will go toward paying down your balance for past deliveries.
- At times the budget plan will have a credit balance; the monthly payments are building up funds for future deliveries. If there is a credit balance at the end of the budget season, it will carry (with interest earned) into the next budget season.
- You must pay all budget payments in order to avoid delivery hold
How do I know when my plan begins or ends?
- Start your Easy Payment Budget Plan anytime.
- Your fuel specialist will fit you into one of the following standard schedules going forward:
- Start payments in July, settle in June,
- Start payments in August, settle in July
- Start payments September, settle in August.
What about deliveries during my settlement period?
- Deliveries made during your settlement period will roll into your next budget plan year.
Example Scenario
Mary decides to take advantage of the Easy Payment Budget Plan in December.
Since all budget plans must settle in June, July, or August, Mary requests her settlement to be in August.
Mary’s estimated fuel cost between December and August is $800; therefore the monthly budget amount is $100
The actual fuel deliveries Mary received during the plan period total $850.
Mary’s first year:
December / January / February / March / April / May / June / July / Settlement (August)$100 / $100 / $100 / $100 / $100 / $100 / $100 / $100 / $50
Mary will make $100 payments each month from December– July. Since her actual usage during the plan period is $850, so she will owe $50 during her settlement month.
Her new plan will begin in September, giving Mary 11 months to spread her new estimated cost of $850
Her estimate was right on track, so Mary can take the month of August off with no payment due!
Mary’s second year
September / October / November / December / January / February / March / April / May / June / July / Settlement (August)$77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $77.27 / $0
