Mission-Area UPDATES:

Education/Training: (Paula Rabidoux)

·  279 is being converted to a long-term trainee room for 6 or 7 students.

·  LEND Directors meeting: Nisonger acknowledged for being cited in Autism Speaks top 10
research.

·  Additonal $75,000 for our LEND program is expected for FY10.

·  Approximately 30% of our grant goes strictly to trainees ( ie. travel, stipends etc.).

·  Karen Edwards – Cincinnatti Associate Director; also on AUCD Board and interested in attending
the next CAC meeting and discussing collaborations with Nisonger.

·  Dear Colleague letter – Paula will talk to Pat.

·  MCH is redoing Strategic Planning – ‘guiding principle’ pushing life course approach, looking at more global issues to include poverty, social outcomes etc.

Service: (Karen Ratliff-Schaub)

·  Meeting with Rich Sobieray (OSUP) – clinic write-off policy.

-  Access for clinic folks to track reimbursements patient by patient.

-  Clinic task force – Johnny Mills will be assisting with OSUP credentialing.

-  We will be exploring doing more ‘incident-to’ billing.

-  IDX access/training – will be sending Sherry to the training.

-  Spoke with Anna Piatca and brought all charges up to 200% of medicare.

-  Current clinic collection rate is approximately 20%, needs to be increased.

-  Clinic meeting 3/17 open to anyone who wants to attend regarding Autism clinic and Family Directed – 1:00 p.m.

Research: (Mike Aman)

·  ATN meeting last Tuesday – NCH & Nisonger will submit a joint proposal. Eric and Karen will be PI’s.

-  ADOS and ADI will be very important; research certified diagnosis.

-  Trainees should be able to administer/observe a couple of ADI’s/ADOS as part of training rotation.

ECE Taskforce:

·  Paula is compiling data – teachers, students, participants… etc.

·  Examining how we align ECE with our Mission and evaluate funding resources.

·  What is our relationship with Franklin County (what is their latitude in supporting us in our efforts in ‘revamping’ the program)?

·  Contract is for 65 students to be served for Franklin County; 20 peer models.

·  Paula will present her final report to EC in April.

Policy on Salary Recovery:

·  50% support for faculty. Policy would ‘incentivize’ faculty to bring in more than 50%.

·  Current Policy – faculty keeps 25% and the center keeps 75%.

·  What is the center getting and what is the expectation for the center funded 50%? This may indicate that some activities are more important than others…

·  To be reviewed at a subsequent EC meeting – review with other faculty. Maureen will provide data for how this worked last year….
