About the Campaign
#HandsUp is a social marketing campaign that advocates for gender equality in our communities and encourages the individuals to think about why gender equality is important to them. This campaign will run over the 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence, from 25th November – 10th December.
How can I be involved?
There are a number of ways that you can be involved in the #HandsUp campaign!
Social media
The Women’s Health GrampiansFacebook and Twitter pages will act as a portal for sharing campaign messages and photos from followers, and for sharing information on gender equality more broadly across the 16 Days. The hashtag #HandsUp will be the official campaign hashtag to use on all campaign posts and tweets.
To participate in the social media component of the campaign, organisations and community members are encouraged to:
- Take a photo with your hands up – this could even be an organisational photo!
- Use the official poster to let us know why gender equality is important to you, for example “#HandsUp for women in leadership” “… to end men’s violence against women” “… for equal pay” and show this sign in your photo, or simply type your gender equality statement below your caption.
- Upload the picture tothe organisations social media account, as well as your own personal account if you like.
- Importantly, tag @WHGrampians on Twitter or Women’s Health Grampians on Facebook
- Use the official campaign hashtag #HandsUp.
Other hashtags that can be used in conjunction with the official campaign hashtag are #16Days#PVAW #EndVAW #primarypreventionor any other hashtag that you think is relevant!
