Your Tourist Card is valid for 30 days from the date of entry to Cuba. You may only enter Cuba once during this period.

How can I apply for my Tourist Card?

  • This visa is issued on board your flight with Air Canada and is free of charge. Your passport should be valid for six months from your return date of travel.

You will need the following items for your application

  • Completed application form. One per person.Click Here
  • Photocopy of the main page of your passport.
  • Photocopy of the Confirmation Invoice from Travel Department.
  • The appropriate fee (see details below)
  • Copy of your travel insurance policy for the duration of your stay in Cuba.
  • Self-addressed stamped envelope for the tourist card to be returned to you. Alternatively, you can collect your tourist card.

Irish and British Passport Holder:
Tourist Card: 30 day single-entry. Application in person - €22
Tourist Card: 30 day single-entry. Application by post or third party - €47

Methods of payment: Bank Draft or Postal Order made payable to Cuban Embassy. Personal Cheques cannot be accepted.

For Indian

The Embassy issues tourist, business , journalist , event, and diplomatic visas.

Visas are issued to a person of nationality of Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, after we analize them.

The payment is made in cash and indian rupees.

The tourist card is not valid to travel to Cuba from India for any nations because we don´t sell tourist card.

Our requirements to apply for a tourist visa are :

Valid passport

Visa application form duly filled and a passport photo.

Reservation confirmed of hotel or house authorized for rent at list per 3 days.

Roundtrip Ticket.

Cash payment of 8400.00 rupees if the person uses an agency for the visa process or 6400.00 rupees if the person comes in person to make the application process.

For citizen from India, Bangladesh and Nepal also it is necesary to present:

Notarized affidavit in which the person declares that only visit Cuba for tourism purposes and not for other activities.

Bank statement showing that the person has enough money to spend in Cuba.

Legalization Services.

The legalization service costs 8800.00 rupees per document.

The company should present the original document in English and the document translated in Spanish.

The company should present both documents duly legalized first by a Camber of Comerce of India and after by The Ministry of External Affairs of India.

Both documents should be legalized.

Procedure in order to legalize documents

1-The document should be produced in English and dully signed by the person that is giving it. In case of power of attorney the document should be issued by a notary person.

2-The English document should be given to an official translator in order to be translated in to Spanish. The translator should put his stamp and signature on the document he translated.

3-Both documents (English and Spanish) should be attested by a Chamber of Commerce.

4-Both documents (English and Spanish) should be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs.

5-Finally you can submit both documents in our Embassy in order to legalize them.

The attestation fee per each document is 8800.00 rupees in cash. It means that the total cost for this case is 17600.00 rupees in cash.

If you want to legalize photocopy of an original document, before submitting this photocopy of an official translator must go to a notary with the original document and photocopy in order to

certify that this photocopy is TRUE COPY of the original you want to keep. Then after that you should follow steps 2 to 5 described above.

For South Africa

Tourist Visa (Tourist Card)

The Tourist Visa or Tourist Card is only for purposes of tourism to Cuba. It is valid for one single entrance into national territory for a 30-day trip and can be extended for an additional 30 days at the office in the hotel where one has accommodations or with the immigration authority.

Minors must have their own Tourist Card even if they are travelling under their parents’ passport(s).

To obtain this visa in person at the Consulate, these documents are needed:

-Valid Passport

-Plane Ticket with entry and return dates

-Payment of the Consular fee for this service

These documents are needed to obtain this visa by mail:

-Legible photocopy of valid Passport

-Legible photocopy of plane ticket with entry and return dates

- Payment of the Consular fee for this service

-Stamped self-addressed envelope for the visa to be sent back

A-2 Family Visas:

The spouses and children of Cuban citizens holding any other nationality who travel to Cuba and wish to stay at the home of their Cuban relatives must present their Passport and the document attesting to their kinship.

1. Valid Passport.

4. Photocopy of the Permission for Residency Abroad (PRE) or the Marriage Certificate of the Cuban citizen.

Payment of the consular fee for this service in cash of with a bank certified cheque if the Cuban citizen possesses the PRE or authorization.

If this application is made by mail, the applicant must present:

1. Valid Passport

2. One photo

3. Form

4. Photocopy of the Permission for Residency Abroad (PRE) or the Marriage Certificate of the Cuban citizen.

5- Stamped self-addressed envelope for the return of his/her Passport.

The applicant is required to pay the consular fee for this service in cash or through a bank certified cheque.

NOTE: If the application is made by mail or via a third party, an extra consular fee will be charged for the pertinent Consular service.

All payments must be made in cash or by a bank certified cheque. All cash sent by mail will be refused and returned at the risk of the applicant.

D-6 or Press Visa

Press Visa must be requested by the applicant from the press office of the Cuban Embassy and after approval is communicated to the consulate, the applicant will visit the consulate during normal business hours.

Documents to be presented:

-One photo

-Completed Visa Application Form

-Payment of the consular fee for this service

If this application is made by mail, the following must be sent:

-Valid passport

-One photo

-Completed Visa Application Form

-Payment of the consular fee for this service

- Stamped self-addressed envelope for the Passport to be returned.

For Visas processed by bodies and institutions in Cuba through the Cuban Immigration Office, the applicant must contact the consulates and check whether authorization was received.

Other visas:

There are other types of visas, which are issued depending on the objective of the trip to be made, namely: student’s visa and event visas (visas issued to persons attending events held in the country), among others. To apply for one of these, the applicant is required to contact the Cuban Consulate in the country he/she is from and request information on these other visas.

Application for Permanent Residency in Cuba:

Applications for PERMANENT RESIDENT VISAS will be drawn up by the interested foreigner at the consulates, accompanied by:

1- Birth Certificate

2- Certificate of Regular Residency (A document certifying or accrediting the applicant’s place of residence. This can be issued by the Police, Mayor’s Office or other official institution.)

3- Chest X-ray, blood and AIDS test results. (Tests cannot have been made more than 6 months prior to being presented to the Consulate. There is only one blood test and it is the same one conducted in Cuba. These tests may be done directly in Cuba as long as they are done in hospitals and clinics specializing in the care of foreigners, even though the DIE prefers that they are part of the file sent by the Consulate)

4- Proof of technical and practical capacity (for those older than 16 and younger than 60). (These may be certificates for courses, years of working experience, certificates for technical levels, certificates referring to a trade or occupation, as well as retirement).

5- Economic solvency (The bank account holder must be the foreigner-applicant and it constitutes a guarantee for them and the family. If the DIE does not grant the requested visa, the account maybe closed whenever the applicant desires. The bank account may be opened from abroad in a Cuban bank, as long as the certification is acknowledged and issued by the Cuban bank. The account opened in a Cuban bank must have a balance of at least 5,000.00 CUC.)

6- Certification of criminal record in the country of residence. (When presenting this to the Consulate, it must have been issued by the official institution no longer than 3 months prior.)

7- A letter stating the reasons for the application.

8- Two passport-size photos, front view.

9- Photocopy of the Passport with certification of its comparison with the original at the Cuban Consulate.

10- Payment of the consular fee for this service in cash or with bank certified cheque.

FOR THE UNDER-AGE CHILDREN OF FOREIGN CITIZENS

• Father’s or mother’s Power of Attorney, translated and legalized by the Consulate.

• Minor’s Birth Certificate, translated and legalized by the Consulate.

Note: Documents must be translated by a notarized translator and legalized, both the original and the translation, by the competent authorities and then by the Cuban Consulate, or, having the originals legalized by the competent authorities and then having them translated at the Cuban Consulate along with the legalization of the original and the translation.

The DIE will emit its answer about granting permanent residence or not within 3 to 6 months. This type of visa is only granted at Cuban Consulates abroad.

Legalization and certification of Documents

Documents to be used in Cuba for legal procedures must be legalized by the corresponding authorities of the country.

Documents must be translated by a notarized translator and legalized, both the original and the translation, by the competent authorities and then by the Cuban Consulate, or, having the originals legalized by the competent authorities and then having them translated at the Cuban Consulate along with the legalization of the original and the translation.

Payment of the consular fee must be made for this service.
