Assistant Manager

Club Information

Prestigious family orientated, full service private country club established in 1908. The Club has 1,300 members representing in excess of $17 million gross dollar volume of which $7 million is attributed to food and beverage sales.

Dining facilities include three dining rooms (casual, upscale casual, formal) plus a seasonal patio and poolside restaurant. Banquet operation includes a ballroom seating 400, several additional elegantly appointed private party rooms plus a wine cellar. The Club has a high volume banquet operation and can accommodate events up to 1200 guests. Athletic facilities include an 18 hole Robert Trent Jones designed golf course, golf shop, golf practice range and video training facility, 15 tennis courts, swimming pool and fitness center. The Club is currently building a 400 car underground parking garage which is due to be complete in April 2013.

Position

The primary focus of the position is to oversee the multi-faceted banquet operation as well as locker room facilities. The AM will provide leadership and guidance to a dynamic management team and a large staff. The Club places significant emphasis on training and preparing staff to provide members with the best possible service. Prior experience in training is a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience and / or aptitude to lead and coach a diverse staff. Peripheral department responsibilities will also be assigned such as overseeing the inventory, storage and purchase of various service items. The Assistant Manager will also work closely with members in booking large events and club functions.

The position requires an energetic, enthusiastic leader with a solid foundation in food and beverage plus team development skills. Knowledge of and a desire to learn more about food and wine is favorable. Must have a strong work ethic. Will work closely with the Assistant General Manager and other Department Heads. While the Club is rich in history and tradition, creativity and a forward-thinking management style is welcome. Applicants with prior quality experience and a degree in hospitality management is a plus as is a desire to progress as a Club Management professional. Compensation

Base salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, performance bonus potential, 401k, National and local CMAA membership package and education allowance, Paid Time Off program and other traditional benefits.
