Location: Normally located on the Middlesex University Hendon Campus, North London, or at venues in London

Salary:Varies per event (payment based on London Living Wage of £9.75 for hours at event plus editing time), plus free entry to event and

any additional travel expenses

The Role

Middlesex Students' Union are seeking enthusiastic, experienced, reliable student photographers to capture key Freshers’ events in September and October 2017, with the potential forfurther paid work at a range of student events across the academic year – from clubnights to awards ceremonies, conferences to campaign activity.

Responsibilities

  • Attend a variety of events: photographing guests in both group and candid shots, as well as capturing the general atmosphere, including the venue and décor.
  • Oversee photoshoots as required to document student life, photograph elected representatives and staff, and contribute to MDXSU’s stock library of images.
  • Act in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Provide photos to MDXSU within a set, agreed timeframe.
  • Ensure that photos remain the property of MDXSU and are not distributed or publicised elsewhere without agreement. We are generally happy to include credit with Facebook albums and for you to use some of your work for us within personal portfolios.
  • Identify problems as they arise, resolving them where possible and appropriate, and reporting them as necessary
  • Ensure necessary equipment is available.

Own equipment or access via LoanStore(some equipment can be provided but must be organised beforehand)
Qualifications
Current or incoming Middlesex University student / Essential
Knowledge and Experience
Experience in event/clubnight photography and working in low light conditions / Essential
Experience in customer-facing work / Essential
Experience in recording video / Desirable
General understanding of the work of Middlesex Students’ Union / Desirable
