Hound Dog Run 2016
What: Hound Dog Run is Harpeth Valley’s big fundraiser! It is a blast! Children will have a fun run during the day, during your child’s Related Arts time. Fastest boy and girl runner in each class will compete for the grade level’s top boy and girl.
When: October 21: Fun Run during the school day followed by a family fun night and silent auction from 5-8 PM!
Here’s how it works:
1. Decide how much you are able to invest and collect in sponsorships! Our goal is to average $100 per child at Harpeth Valley. That is just 55 CENTS a day!! What a deal! Just like always, your child can collect sponsorships for the run from grandparents, neighbors, and friends. Whatever you are most comfortable with. Best news is…you can pay this over almost FOUR months!
2. Send in the pledge sheet to let us know for budget purposes the amount of sponsorship money you expect to give/ collect.
3. Send in a check anytime and starting Friday, Sept. 9 you’ll be able to pay by credit card online- You can choose to pay all at once or budget it over several months. All donations are tax deductible! What is awesome is anyone can donate in your child’s name, so ask grandma or Aunt Betty! In fact many employers will match charitable donations. You just have to ask! Check with your employer to see if they offer this benefit.
What else do you need to know?? Attached we have listed prizes for different levels of pledges. You can donate to the school throughout the year, but the DEADLINE to qualify for prizes will be December 2nd . Most prizes will be distributed during the last week of the semester. T-shirts will be given out the week of the run.
Parents/family will also be given the opportunity to purchase a t-shirt. Please look for this flyer to come home closer to time for the run.
What are we going to use your money for? This is a GREAT question! If we meet our goal we will be able to provide:
$250 for each teacher to use in classroom and teacher appreciation luncheons
Additional $7000 in teacher grants for workshops and materials not covered in the school budget
Maintain copiers and ink cartridges at school
New books in Library and book room
Accelerated Reader awards
Quarterly family nights
NEW B. A. R. K program rewards
HVES Garden
*We are excited that we have been able to complete these projects: putting smartboards, Ipads and projectors in EVERY classroom! *
If we make more than our goal, these are some additional projects we’d like to implement
Additional playground equipment
New sound system, projector, and screen in cafeteria
The best part…we won’t be holding lots of fundraisers. NO cookie dough, wrapping paper, or candy. This is set up so that 100% of the money goes toward YOUR child!
