Facility:25 yard poolwith separated warm-up/warm-down poolSix lanes with flow-thru lane lines. Colorado Timing System with touch pads, two-button manual back up, six lane electronic timing display board and horn/strobe start. Also, two hand-held digital watches per lane. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with Article 104.2.2C(4) of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations- 2012. Start end depth is 12 feet, turn end depth is 3.5 feet.In accordance with Article 202.3.4E, use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.

Warm-ups will be conducted in accordance with Alaska Swimming Warm-up/Warm-down procedures. These procedures are available in the AK Swimming bylaws.

Officials Meetings:There will be a coaches/officials meeting just prior to the beginning of the meet on Friday.

Eligibility:Open to all Southeast Alaska and Canadian swimmers currently registered as athlete members with USA Swimming and Alaska Swimming or FINA. Swimmers must swim in the age bracket corresponding to their age on the first day of the meet.

“Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

Rules:1.Current USA and Alaska Swimming Rules will govern this meet.

  1. Swimmers may enter a total of twelve (12) events, with no more than five (5) events per day. This is exclusive of relay events.
  1. All events shall be conducted as timed finals.
  2. Relay events shall be swum in age groups as follows: 8/U,10/U, 11/12, and open.
  1. This meet will be run as a “no recall meet”.
  1. “Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited.”

Scratch

Rules:1.Individual scratch rules for events will be in effect as stated in the “Alaska Swim Guide” posted on the “akswimming.org” web page.

  1. The relay scratch rule will be applied as stated in the “Alaska Swim Guide” posted on the “akswimming.org” web page.

3.Scratches shall be made each day and delivered to the computer table as soon as possible.

4.A swimmer will be considered entered unless his/her coach has officially scratched him/her from the event.

Entry: 1. Email your entries on or before Wednesday, Nov 2, 2016, by using Hy-Tek (or compatible) software choosing the “Export/Meet entries” option along with the following attachments:

a.A Team Manager “team entry report”

.2.The name and telephone number of the entry contact person must be included with entries.

3. If you do not have Team Manager, your entries need to

be emailed on a consolidated form that includes the

swimmers USA identification number.

“Disabled swimmers are encouraged to participate. Coaches should include with the team entries, a copy of the Information Form for Disabled Swimmers (also available on the ASI website), specifying the special needs of any adaptive swimmer(s), as well as requests for non-standard entries (for example, entries in other age groups). Questions regarding final assignment within specific heats should be brought to the attention of the Meet Referee.”Coaches please contact the meet director and referee to let them know of any special needs swimmers and what accommodations they require to participate in this meet.

Swimmer surcharge $15.00

Swimmer entry fee $3.50

Individual Event: $2.50

Relay Event: $5.50

Scoring:Scores will not be kept.

Awards:Ribbons will be awarded for 1st-6th place for each individual event. 11 and over events will be awarded by 11/12, 13/14 and 15 and over. Open events will be awarded as 13 and under and 15 and over.

Housing:Housing will be provided for your swimmers. Please email your housing request and include your arrival and departure times, (including an estimate on how many people will require transportation) so that transportation arrangements can be made for your team.
