Very well done to them. A fantastic Halfway House was organised and manned on the day by Anna Eldred, Anne Dupres & Sue Hunt. Huge thanks to them for a great job.

Ladies’ Club Sweater - Mary reported that we have 9 of the new Ladies’ Club Sweaters in stock in the Pro Shop. She is going to ask to have one displayed for members to see.

.

Crystal Bowl Tuesday 18th August–As tradition dictates, and as last year’s winner Mary will provide the flowers to go into the "crystal bowl trophy" which will be presented to this year’s winner.

VICE CAPTAIN

Tuesday Roll-Ups - Joy reported that over the last two months we have had an average of 13 players each Tuesday. June’s 9 hole qualifier was postponed to the following Tuesday due to bad weather. Although some ladies did go out!

Charity Day Saturday 20th June – This was a very successful day with 100 players out on the course. Money raised was £3,700 plus on the day. With additional funds from competitions etc. we currently have £5,401. Many many thanks to the members who donated Tombola and Squares’ Board prizes and to those who helped on the Friday and on the day.

Ladies’ Crystal Bowl Tuesday 18th August – So far 26 ladies had signed up for this event but a few more pairs would be good. Joy said she still needed to ascertain what Bill Betts will be charging us for setting out the tables and providing tea and coffee. Fran Cornhill will provide the scones for the afternoon tea. Joy will look into getting the jam and cream. The entry fee for the event will be £8 per pair.

TREASURER

Kerry presented the Ladies’ current balance sheet which showed a slight increase in expenditure over income. Income being £1359 and expenditure £1465. She reported that as predicted at the start of the year, expenditure would be higher than previous years due to the funds providing the following:

  • Subsidy for the Ladies’ Christmas dinner £210.90
  • Subsidy for the away day at Singing Hills £250.00
  • Jumper stock £256.50

Future expenses include:

  • Trophies for the year totalling £719.00
  • Ladies’ invitation day expenses already incurred
  • Captain's day in October

COMPETITION SECRETARY

Zara said she had nothing to report on Competition Roll-ups.

There appear to be some areas of procedure and Handicap criteria for entry into competitions that need clarification. Zara said she will to put together a report to clarify these.

It was proposed and agreed by the Committee that every Thursday and Saturday roll-up during the winter season would be counted for the Winter Eclectic Competition.

MATCH SECRETARY

Rosemary said she couldn’t believe the season is nearly over and that most of our matches have been played.

Two previously discussed matches have not come to fruition as yet. Firstly, Foxbridge asked for a return match. Rosemary said she emailed Foxbridge about it, but so far it has not been followed up. Secondly, Limpsfield suggested playing the previously cancelled match in the autumn, but as yet nothing has been agreed.

Our first match with Dorking seemed to go well and we already have a date for next year.

HANDICAP SECRETARY

Shirley was unable to attend the meeting but provided the following information:

CONGU are considering a number of changes to the Unified Handicapping System for implementation from 2016. Full clarification is awaited but the main points are as follows:

  • 4BBB allowance will change from 75% to 90% - final decision has been made.
  • Handicap Category Boundaries – Maximum to increase from 28 to 40 for men and from 36 to 54 for ladies were considered. It was agreed that NO change will be made to the existing ones. However a new ‘Club Handicap’ will be introduced for the clubs who wish to allocate a handicap higher than 28/36 for use in club run events. (This handicap will only be valid at the player’s home club and cannot be used in opens etc.).

Shirley said she will report on further proposed changes once full clarification is received.

SOCIAL SECRETARY

Christine reported that a successful Awaydaywas held at Singing Hills Golf Club on Saturday 1st August with 24 ladies taking part in a 4 ball team game. It was a lovely sunny day and everyone was so pleased with the venue that many said they would like to go again.
