Minutes of Meeting

Monday, December 16, 2013

Members Present: Jeff Labrecque, David Santin, Mike Downer, Jodi Pinard, Kevin Pinard, Ken Scherer, Todd Lizotte, Jed Cooper, Jeff Lewis, John Patti, Scott Evans

Jeff Labrecque motioned to open the meeting at 7:05pm seconded by David Santin. Motion Passes

Mike Downer motioned approval of the meeting minutes from October 28, 2013 and November 18, 2013 as passed out seconded by Todd Lizotte. Motion Passes

GENERAL BUSINESS/BOARD DISCUSSION:

Field Conversion

In January of 2013 the board voted to approve $1,500 to complete the field conversion. These costs have risen considerable. With little league having to purchase fencing for safety reasons in regards to lacrosse and softball receiving a field for no cost, both sports as well as HYAA have been approached regarding sharing some of the costs. As this field conversion affected three sports it is believed that HYAA should be assisting with the costs. This is being looked into. Jeff Labrecque will be discussing this at the HYAA meeting in January. Both softball and lacrosse were receptive in assisting with some of the costs for the field conversion.

Bang the Rust

The first 3 dates have been set and discussion regarding whether to have clinics on the last three dates was discussed. The board will be receiving a quote for those last three dates as what the cost would be to hold clinics on those dates.

Mike Downer motioned to approve payment to USA in the amount of $750 for use of the facility for Bang the Rust for the first three dates seconded by Kevin Pinard. Motion Passes

2014 Board of Directors

Sponsorship/Fundraising - Mike Gibeault was nominated by Mike Downer and seconded by Jeff Labrecque. Motion Passes

Field Director – Jodi Pinard was nominated by Jeff Labrecque and seconded by Dave Santin. Motion Passes.

Equipment Manager – Todd Lizotte was nominated by Mike Downer and seconded by Dave Santin. Motion Passes

Major Director – Matt Bouchard was nominated by Jeff Labrecque and seconded by Mike Downer. Motion Passes

National Director– Dave Santin was nominated by Jeff Labrecque and seconded by Todd Lizotte. Motion Passes

American Director – Jed Cooper was nominated by Mike Downer and seconded by Todd Lizotte. Motion Passes

Futures Director/Tee Ball Director – Stephen McNally and Jim Lord were nominated by Dave Santin and seconded by Jeff Labrecque. Motion Passes

Field Permits

Mike Downer motioned for Jodi Pinard to apply for all field permits for Hooksett Little League for the spring and fall seasons seconded by Kevin Pinard. Motion Passes

Registration Items/Fees

Discussion was had regarding the increasing costs associated with running the program. The items that must be considered in the registration fee are the fees of running the program, the $10 per player fee that is charged by HYAA to each sport, and the fact there is no more fundraising for the players to participate in.

Jeff Labrecque motioned to set the registration fee for the 2014 season at $95 per player and $150 for families with 2 or more players seconded by Jed Cooper. Motion Passes

Jeff Labrecque motioned to have online registration only seconded by Kevin Pinard. Motion Passes

Registration Dates – January 16 from 6pm-8pm, January 25 from 9am-11am. These will be held at Cawley School.

Scott Evans will check with SNHU on possible dates to hold evaluations.

Open Discussion

Jeff Lewis stated he will be at the field more this season to watch umpires and parents as concerns were mentioned as to possible issues last season.

Scott Evans will speak to high schools to see if any players would like to umpire games and be paid $10. This could possibly be counted as a community service requirement that some schools require.

Jodi Pinard motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:39pm seconded by Kevin Pinard. Motion Passes
