With regard to item 13. the Deputy Town Clerk read the reply from the Enforcement Officer. It was agreed that the Town Council would write to the owner of Kings Court to request that the gates remain unlocked during office hours for reasons including the safety of pedestrians at the junction of New Street with King Street and to avoid any risk to tenants.

With regard to item b. above, Cllr Zarczynski reported that he had attended the meeting of the Development Management Committee and would be attending the meeting of the Planning Inspections Committee on 25th April. Cllr Zarczynski recorded his thanks to Cllr Allen for his robust support of the Town Council’s objections to planning application 13/2744/MOUT at the DMC meeting.

14/214 To discuss the response to the consultation on the proposed improvements to the A303

Cllr Coombs tabled his comments and suggestions for possible improvements to the A303. Following discussion, it was agreed that it would be difficult to obtain a majority view due to different driving styles, although the opportunity should be taken to put forward suggestions for improvements. It was further agreed that the Deputy Town Clerk would collate individual comments for submission to the consultation, with the caveat that this would not necessarily represent a majority view of the Town Council.
