Hong Kong International School All Class Reunion

The reunion will take place in Austin, Texas from July 2 – July 5th, 2010. Austin is centrally located in the hill country of Texas. There are plenty of activities to engage-in from visiting the Johnson Presidential Library to white water rafting. Austin is well known for its night life, especially live music.
The hotel that has been selected is the Double Tree University located next to the University of Texas. The Double Tree University is about a 10 minute walk to the hub of the city, 6th Street. Sixth Street is the “5th Avenue” of Austin with plenty of shopping, entertainment, and museums to explore.
For those interested in outdoor activities, there are lakes, rivers, hiking trails and golfing in close proximity to Austin. San Antonio and Houston are nearby for those interested in exploring the region.

The basic outline of the reunion is:
Friday, July 2 – Arrival reception in the courtesy suite at the Double Tree University will begin at noon. The room will be reserved for the HKIS Reunion through Sunday.
Saturday, July 3 – The day is open for folks to explore Austin and/or the surrounding area. Dinner will be at Serranos, an excellent TEX MEX restaurant (Gregg Saunders, Richard Grayson, and I tested it and it is very good).Folks should arrive at Serranos by 7:00 PM. After dinner the city awaits the HKIS crowd to seek out places to party!
Sunday, July 4th – We will convene at Stubbs BBQ at 1:00 PM for their famous Gospel Brunch, a real crowd pleaser. The mid afternoon is left open for further exploration of the City. The City of Austin will have fireworks that evening to view. Arrangements will be made to get folks to a good viewing area.
Monday, July 5th and beyond – Folks planning to make an extended stay in the Austin area the discount rate for the rooms will be honored through the week. Also, you may contact your Texas HKIS alumni to plan out fun excursions for the whole family.

To cover the cost of the meals at Serranos and Stubbs BBQ we are requesting a non-refundable* deposit of $70 US (Not HK) per Adult and$30 for children 6-12 year old and free for children 5 and under.
