Sahoma Lanes Named Oklahoma’s First Honeywell Bowling Center Clean Air Facility™
SAPULPA, OKLAHOMA – Honeywell Commercial Air Products has announced that the SahomaLanesBowlingCenter is the first bowling center in Oklahoma to be designated a Honeywell Clean Air Facility. The center, located in Sapulpa, wanted to provide cleaner indoor air for their visitors and turned to their authorized Honeywell Full Service Distributor (FSD), Fred Cummins of Clean Air Products in Oklahoma City, for help. The distributor conducted an audit of the indoor air quality and recommended the proper type and size of air cleaners required to provide the cleanest air possible. These Honeywell recommendations are based in part on current American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards. ASHRAE is the leading technical organization, which sets standards for indoor air quality.
In addition to the air cleaners, Sahoma Lanes was interested in the Honeywell Clean Air Facility Program (HCAF). This is a process that assists businesses in marketing their facilities as “clean air establishments.” To qualify for the program, commercial businesses must install and properly maintain the type and quantity of air cleaners required to improve indoor air quality according to Honeywell and ASHRAE specifications.
After an analysis of the centers needs the distributor installed six model F111 ceiling-mounted media air cleaners. Each uses a three-stage filtering system. Stage one includes a prefilter to collect lint and other large dust particulates. In stage two, the main filter captures more than 95 percent of 0.3 micron particulates that pass through it. In the third and final stage of filtration, special Honeywell CPZ sorbent modules reduce gases and odors such as from tobacco smoke, bodies, food, perfume and cleaning solvents.

Each model F111 is completely self contained, requires no outside venting, and provides approximately 1000 cubic feet per minute air flow. This air circulation has an added benefit of
blending ceiling air and floor air for better temperature control. The units feature a swing down, hinged door panel for easy service access and replacement of disposable filters.
Sahoma Lanes bowling center features 24 lanes with automatic scoring. It provides entertainment for all ages from bumper bowling for children, cosmic bowling featuring rock music and tournaments to hosting Oklahoma’s first Junior Olympic Gold Program for youth. Wayne Bolin, owner of Sahoma Lanes, said the center has had many favorable comments on the difference in air quality since installation. “Employees have commented they can work a complete shift and not go home smelling of smoke. Also, I like the fact that the Honeywell air cleaners are easy to maintain and keep in working order. Some other brands we tried before were hard to clean, lost efficiency rapidly, and ultimately did not do the job.”
