Experience Augmented Reality Resource List
What We Did This Month
· For December, we explored the world of Augmented Reality! First, we learned what this technology is and how it is used. Then we jumped right in using it ourselves!
· We used an iPad and iPad Mini for this program. The applications used are available for download to Apple and Android devices.
· First, we explored Aurasma. Called the world’s leading AR platform, there are several ways to use this app. We took a look at a $1 bill and a $20 bill using our iPad camera.
· The second app we played with is the Guinness Book of World Records See it in 3D app. This we used in conjunction with Guinness Book of World Records 2014 and Guinness Book of World Records 2015. Certain pages of the book are made to interact with the app. We looked at the solar system and the world’s tallest man, plus a few others.
· Another AR application we tried out is Quiver. We colored printed coloring sheets (http://www.quivervision.com/coloring-packs/) and then watched them come to life!
· As a craft, we made coding bracelets. While this didn’t really have much to do with AR, coding is used in every app created! The craft came from http://www.mamasmiles.com/stem-fun-for-kids/.
