Services

HOME BOARDING......

There is nothing more heart warming than seeing dogs from different homes, curled up together in front of the Rayburn or on the bed, comfy & content in their surroundings & this is our chief aim for all clients.

Guests will be treated like our own dogs!! There will be firm but fair handling so all dogs feel secure & safe, enabling the pack to function happily. Our own dogs & cats are extremely precious to us, so please, only book your dogs in if they enjoy the company of their own kind & also people! Be honest when filling your booking form in, if you are unsure about any of the questions, contact me for direction. I’m always here for help & support, especially with ex-rescue dogs. If your dog has attacked cats, dogs or people, our service is not going to be of use to you. Please see the terms & conditions that you can download from this page.

Security......

Dog theft is on the increase!!

‘To The Manor Bourne’ offers lots of security! We have high, solid hardwood electric security gates on the drive. An intercom system is the only way for visitors to request access.

Our half acre plot is deer fenced directly behind a 7-8ft hawthorn hedge to the right of the property. To the left, we have 4ft rabbit mesh (also buried below surface) against an 8ft conifer hedge. To the rear left we have two metre high meshed fencing behind conifers & a beech hedge to the rear with small square mesh directly behind that.

Your dog will be wearing one of our own large dog tags on their collar, alongside your own tags (it is illegal for your dog not to have a tag, please make sure you have one for their stay.)

Transport......

We have a purpose fitted VW Transporter, with secure crating, Fletner vents & we use Countrymun Space Blankets & Ventlocks.

General Info......

National holidays such as Xmas, Boxing day, New Years day, Easter Sunday will be subject to a 50% increase for your dog being here on those days.

Other products used...

We have had excellent success with the Osmonds range of food supplements over the years & use them for clients that may have trouble with Arthritis, IBS, Lack of Appetite etc & will happily recommend any products that may be of use to you, & supply you with them, either by post to your home address or at the end of your dog’s stay.

Any specific requirements you have – ie; Weight gain or weight loss, Over timid or over cheeky natures...

Please speak to me about anything you would like to work on whilst your dog is here. Helping dogs gain weight is very do-able whilst they are in a pack environment & this can often be an issue for young Vizslas especially.

Some of the natural remedies we use are......

2mg Garlic capsules once a day intermittently for control of most parasites (fleas, ticks and reduces worm burden), added to breakfast.

Bioforce Animal Health Flower Essences, Over dominant, Timid, Highly Strung.

Bach Remedies such as Rock Rose for extreme terror, Rescue Remedy for stress. Larch for when a dog is overwhelmed and a tad grumbley.

Homeopathic Pillules. Aconite 1m for trauma and shock. Ignatia 200c for grief. We are having huge success with these pillules! More and more of the dogs that come to stay with us suffer from nervousness due to previous illness, grief or traumatic encounters with aggressive dogs. The pillules are making a massive difference to their holidays here with us.

CLEANING PRODUCTS...

We really try to use as many natural cleaning products as possible, this can important for highly strung and sensitive dogs. Bowls are washed in Earth Friendly washing up liquid. Surfaces are cleaned with white vinegar, white vinegar and lime juice. Floors are washed with a Petcetera fluids called Kennel Kleen or Total Kill, these kill Parvo, etc.

We truly try to offer a holistic stay for all clients and many of the little extras we offer, we kind of forget to mention!

Home Boarding is offered on a price per day, per dog basis. Fee to be paid on arrival in Cash or Cheque made payable to ‘To The Manor Bourne’.

Due to strict licensing laws you are required to fill out a Booking Form & when signing, you sign to agree to our Terms & Conditions. You will need to present a valid & up to date Vaccination Card (Kennel Cough not required) that covers your dog for the duration of their stay. If it is due to run out whilst here, please do not get your dog jabbed earlier than stated, as this can cause the onset of a seizure in certain breeds. Contact me at least 2 weeks in advance of the arrival date. I will give you the contact details of my own vet so you can book the dog/dogs into their practice for a booster (at a convenient time for me to take them), you can settle the bill in advance with my vet & we will take care of the boosters being sorted. There will be a small charge for travelling expenses. For those of you who don’t do jabs for various reasons, we WILL accept a Titer Test certificate if it is less than 12 months old. We understand that some dogs can’t have vaccinations due to health issues but also that some owners don’t want to jab their dogs for personal reasons.

DAY CARE...

We can offer you a daycare service within the hours of 8/8.30a.m. & 6/6.30p.m. pending on opening hours at a cost of £12.50 per day per dog (for a dog over 12 months of age, please add £5 per day for puppies under 12 months of age.) Ideal for when you have a long day of activity that your dog will not appreciate! Meals & treats will be included.

SLEEP-OVERS...

We also offer sleep-overs if you want a night out, without the worry! Dogs to arrive between 5-6pm & can be picked up the following morning at 9-11a.m. subject to opening hours. Meals & treats included in the price. £17.50 per dog, per night (please add £5 extra per night for puppies under 12 months of age.)

LUXURY HOME BOARDING...

The home boarding service we offer appears to be rather unique. For us, it is just caring for your dog/s how our own dogs are cared for. So we feed adult dogs twice a day. Puppies and thin/anorexic dogs are fed anywhere between 3-6 small meals a day and hand fed if required. Walks are usually local, through fields and woodland. In warm weather we take the dogs up to the local ponds to swim. In cold weather, walks are very cosy as we use Equafleece jumpers and suits. Dog beds are warm and cosy Tuffies or heated orthopaedic beds. Your dog will wear collar tag that sports a number that is registered on their booking form so they are identifiable at all times, for licensing purposes. We have a secondary mobile phone number on all dog tags for any unforeseen situations. Any puppies between 12 weeks to 18 months will only be exercised under the strict rule of ‘5 minutes per month’ so a 6 month old pup will have a gentle 30 minutes exercise. Young and old smaller sized dogs can still come on our longer walks but can then rest in the off road dog buggy we have. Healthy treats are given at our discretion. We don’t leave your dog home alone, so we are happy accepting dogs with separation anxiety. The vehicles are cosy and safe. At bedtime your dog really can sleep under the duvet of our bed or in one of the bedroom dog beds. No dogs sleep downstairs, they sleep close to us so we need to know they are safe and well! Videos and photos can be emailed to you, so you can really see how things are progressing on your dog/s holiday.

Please feel free to enquire about other services that we might not have thought of!

WHAT TO DO NEXT IF YOU WANT TO BOOK YOUR DOG/S IN...

Contact us to check if the dates you require are available, discuss special requirements and book a ‘meet & greet’ where you come and visit it. We strongly recommend that you do not bring your dog into our house straight away, we will come and greet you then we all leave straight away for the walk, so the dogs can meet on neutral territory. You also get to see where your dog will be exercised. After the walk we all come back to the house for a drink and let the dogs socialise to see how they get on. If you feel happy with the service we offer, you can either fill in a booking form there and then, take one home or download it from the website. You will also be given a quote for your dog/s holiday.

Please read, fill in the booking form and carefully read the terms and conditions. Send it back to us with a 25% deposit. We cannot reserve dates without the deposit. Check your dates are correct as we do not refund fees if you wish to collect your dog earlier. We use the same principles as a hotel does with regards to checking in later or checking out earlier. Remember that we may have turned down other bookings due to accepting yours and that income is not replaceable. Prices are charged per day not night so a Friday to Sunday is charged as 3 days.

On the day of arrival, if you have time to go straight out for a short walk with us, to reintroduce the dogs, that would be excellent. If not, we will take them all out as soon as you have gone home. You MUST leave vaccination cards or titer test paperwork with us for the duration of the holiday. Dogs arriving without the afore mentioned will still be turned away unless we have seen the up to date paperwork on a previous visit and have a photocopy on file.

The 75% balance is due on arrival. Cheques can be made payable to ‘To The Manor Bourne.’
