I. PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE: Must be a Junior or Senior; Keyboarding, IT, CIS, or instructor approval

II. GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION: Students develop proficiency in creating desktop publications, multimedia presentations/projects, and Web sites using industry standard application software. Students incorporate principles of layout and design in completing publications and projects. Students design portfolios that may include business cards, newsletters, mini-pages, Web pages, multimedia presentations/projects, calendars, and graphics.

III. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STUDENT:

1.Participate in classroom activities

2. Students are expected to complete ALL assignments as directed and scheduled. Late work will not be accepted except in cases of PRIOR INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL. Failure to do work assigned will result in grade reduction.This will be strictly enforced.

3. Students needing assistance, such as those with a physical or learning disability that will become difficult to complete course work, are responsible for ensuring that the school and instructor are aware of the conditions that require accommodations in the educational process.

4. Students should refer to the current school handbook regarding other academic regulations such as student conduct, not listed in this course outline and be governed accordingly.

A=93-100

B=85-92

C=77-84

D=70-76

F=Below 70

Evaluation:

In-class Assignments, Projects are weighted one time

Tests are weighted twice

V. Makeup Policy

At no time is a student to miss additional class time or other classes to make up work. It is the student’s responsibility to meet at the teacher’s convenience for make-up work. Students have two (2) school days to make up work if they have been absent two (2) or fewer consecutive days. After two (2) consecutive days of absences, students have one (1) additional day to make up work for each additional day’s absence. For everyday you are late on making up work five (5) points willbe deducted from your grade. No exceptions, don’t ask.

VI. TEXTBOOK AND MATERIAL REQUIRMENTS:

Text: Pearson, Prentice Hall, DDC. Learning Macromedia Dreamweaver 8

Software: Microsoft Notepad, Various Internet Browsers, Dreamweaver and Windows XP, Publisher, and MovieMaker will be used.

Materials:Each student needs a 1 to 1.5” 3-ring binder to store handouts and class notes. Also a folder with pockets is needed to turn in weekly assignments.
