ou are the only one in your family who can figure your grocery bill. You have been given the responsibility of going through the sales paper and figuring out how much money is needed for your Holiday Dinner. This will be easier to do if you use a spreadsheet.

We are expecting 12 people for dinner (all hardy eaters), so be sure to buy plenty of food.The menu includes:

  • Turkey
  • Gravy
  • 3 vegetables (potatoes, yams, etc.)
  • Bread
  • 2 different kinds of beverages (non-alcoholic)
  • Pumpkin pie (or Applepie or your choice!)

Ice cream

  • Cake (cheesecake, chocolate or your choice!)

Set up a spreadsheet similar to the one below. Make sure you include a column for your food items, Amount, Cost per pound, and Price. You spreadsheet should look as follows:

  • Price is computed using a formula, for example: =B4*C4
  • Subtotal is also using a formula, for example:=SUM(D4:D15)
  • Tax is computed using a formula for example:=0.07*D16
  • Total is computed using a formula, for example:=D16+D17
  • END AMT is also using a formula, for example:=D21-D18
