Hole-In-One Volunteer Responsibilities

The Shift Captain should be at Deep Cliff a few minutes before the shift begins to pick up the SET-UP MATERIALS from the Pro Shop and take them down to the 10th tee.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

A. Shift Captain (or designate) – is stationed at the table on the tee(Volunteer 1)

  1. Organize the volunteers as to which positions they fill.
  2. Set-up the table, chairs and tee mats stored on the left side of the tee box
  3. Compile List of Daily Qualifiers w/ Name, Phone #, amount spent and Distance
  4. Total the day’s receipts and check the total amount against the Qualifying List contributions total. Seal the cash in the envelope. Write the Day’s total on the envelope along with your name, date and bring to the Pro Shop to be deposited in the Drop Safe. Please remember to leave $50 in smaller bills in the cash box for the next shift.
  5. Keep the daily Qualifying sheet in the binder and clearly circle and write the nightly qualifier’s names and distances. Corporate Qualifying sheets are at back of binder.
  6. Clearly mark the second closest to the pin also with their distance to the pin and contact information. The closest to the pin contact information should include the phone number and email address.
  7. At the end of the evening, put all Set-up Materials back in the Rotary Box. Return it to Pro Shop. Deposit the Cash envelope in the Drop Safe. Move the table, chairs, mats to the side of the tee box.

B. Green Keeper: stationed at the green(Volunteer 2 & 3)

  1. Measure distance of any balls landing in contention or close to the hole. Measurement is from the edge of the hole to the nearest edge of the ball to the nearest 1/4 inch.
  2. Periodically clear balls from the green for the Ball Runner to take back to the tee.
  3. Repair all Ball Marks on the Green

C. Ball Runner/Shag Person(Volunteer 3)

  1. Help the Green keeper pick-up balls from around the green and periodically run them back to the tee.
  2. Help the Shift Captain at the tee managing the players and collecting money
  3. Kibitz with the Green Keeper and Shift Captain, if they appear lonely. Bring them drinks.

D. Solicitor(Volunteer 4)

  1. Pass out Hole-In-One coupons to players coming off the 9th and 18th greens, and encourage them to take their qualifying shots at #10 (again if they already have)
  2. Also kibitz with the Green Keeper and Shift Captain, if they appear lonely. Bring them more drinks.

E. Ball Runner (Volunteer 5)

  1. Double up with Volunteer 3’s responsibilities. Spend more time on the tee convincing players to donate more money to our cause.

F. Rover at Large(Volunteer 6)

  1. On the night of Wednesday, May 11th we will need one more volunteer. This is the night of the Cupertino Chamber’s Mixer held at Deep Cliff and the Rain Check night for the Club. The regular after Club meeting free shots for closest-to-the-pin for members was canceled this year due to the weather. May 11th is their makeup night.

* Participating Corporate Sponsors and their employees shoot at no charge, and their names are placed separately on one of the Corporate Sponsors Qualifying Lists at the back of the binder.
