3.  Project Definition

3.a. Project Scope

Click here to go to Appendix A for more information regarding this section.

This project will identify and define additional FHIR resources related to the domain of Imaging to be published in the second FHIR DSTU release. This will include support for study object manifests, key image notes, and similar DICOM data. It will also update existing Imaging FHIR resources as necessary to reflect DSTU feedback and new quality guidelines.
These resources will be defined using the available FHIR tooling and in accordance with documented quality guidelines and balloted as part of the initial FHIR specification.
Expected FHIR resources to be produced include:
·  Study object manifests
·  Key image notes

3.b. Project Need

Imaging integration requires support for resources that annotate the actual images. One such type of annotation is DICOM Key Object Selection. These KOS annotations support many use cases as profiled by IHE, such as study image manifests, key image notes, and image change management.
This project will create the set of resource definitions related to the domain of Imaging integration to support such Key Object Selection annotations.

3.c. Success Criteria

Identified resources have been defined and successfully passed DSTU ballot.

3.d. Project Objectives / Deliverables / Target Dates

Within each row, enter the explicit work product(s) / objective(s). Indicate their target date at the right in WGM/Ballot Cycle format. Include the project end date as the last objective (for standards projects, the end date will be the projected ANSI approval date).
Click here for further information and an EXAMPLE / Target Date (in WGM or ballot cycle format, e.g.
‘2010 Sept WGM’ or
‘2010 Jan Ballot’)

Imaging resources ready for QA / Prior to Sept 2014 WGM for QA process
Content ready for inclusion in FHIR DSTU ballot / January 2015
Ballot content published as part of next DSTU / March 2015

3.e. Project Dependencies

The artifacts produced by this project will be balloted as part of January 2015 FHIR DSTU project (Project Insight ID TBD).

3.f.  Project Document Repository Location

Resource content will be maintained in http://gforge.hl7.org/svn/fhir/trunk/source. Additional project tracking and supporting project documents will be kept here:
