Dear Parents/Guardians,Even though it has not felt like Fall, the cooler temperatures are upon us!
This month we will have parent/teacher conferences. This is an important time for you to hear how your student/s have started off their school year. This is a great time to ask teachers questions about your child’s progress and their hopes for them as the year continues. We hope to see you one of the conference evenings!
I hope those of you that could participate enjoyed the first parent coffee in September. Just a reminder that there will be coffee and donuts available every second Tuesday, of every month!

Hillis Harvest Festival:
Again this year we will be hosting the Hillis Harvest Festival. Please join us Thursday, October 26 5:00-6:30 for an evening of costumes, goodies, and community resources! More information will be coming home on this wonderful, annual event!
Hillis PTO:
Please join us at our next PTO meeting on Thursday, October 12 6-7 PM. This year any time you volunteer to help PTO, whether you attend a meeting or bring something for conference dinners, or just donate your time at an event, your name will be entered into a drawing for $100. Each time you participate with PTO, your name will be entered!
Fall fundraiser packets need to be turned in Friday, October 6. The fundraiser delivery will be November 17.
Afterschool Happenings:
We are off to a fantastic start! Our clubs are full and the students are experiencing all sorts of new things. We launched the Hillis chapter of the Iowa Youth Chorus and what a turn out! The students are very excited about preforming in the large concert coming in December. More on that later, so keep watching.
If your student is in cooking club, be sure and ask what they prepare each day. There are some very delicious smells coming out of the cafeteria every afternoon! I hope they are all trying new things, too!
Please remember to pick up your students at 5:10, so they can be a part of the full hour of their club, and as always at the Metro door in the gym.
