Las Sendas Elementary PTO Meeting Minutes
April 27, 2015
Las Sendas Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (“PTO”) met in regular session in the media center at Las Sendas Elementary (“Las Sendas”) 3120 N. Red Mountain Road, on April 28, 2015. Meeting was called to order at 6:07 pm.
Introduction/Roll CallJennifer Casey
Jennifer Casey (President), Jennifer Berkshire (VP Fundraising), Dana Butters (Treasurer), Stephanie Drew (VP Communications), Michele Berragan (Secretary), present. Jennifer Wall (VP Hospitality/Social Events) and Aaron Kaczmarek (Principal) were absent.
Approval of March MinutesMichele Barragan
Motion to approve March 2015 minutes as written was made Michelle Zima, second by Nicole Mongiovi. Motion passed.
Principal’s ReportAaron Kaczmarek
Mr. Kaczmarek was on the 5th grade field trip, but there was discussion about the mobile labs and the desire to hire a computer tech.

Family Movie Night – Event will be May1, 2015, from 7-9 pm and we will be showing Big Hero 6. It will be held in the multi purpose room
Spring Book Fair was a success. Brought in $10,391.71. Paid Scholastic $6,792.98 for inventory and leaving a profit of $3,327.14 to media center account.
FundraisingJennifer Berkshire
BOX TOPS – The final Box Tops contest will run until May 8, 2015. The winning class will receive a Bahama Bucks party. Raised $525. Box tops and Labels for education will be mailed next month.
Clothing Drive – On April 22ndwas a success. Brought in $435. Very pleased with the new company.
Fairy Lunch Time – Raffle tickets will be sold for one lucky class to earn a pizza party with our Fairy Godfather Mr. K. The special event will take place on May 15th during that class’s lunchtime. Would like to encumber $50.00 for pizza party for winning class. Motion to encumber $50.00 by Annie Brown and seconded by Nora Brady. Motion passed.
Friends & Family/Beautification Project Housecleaning – equipment has been ordered and hopefully will be installed before school starts in August.
6th Grade Commencement – Would like to encumber $3,000 for 6thgrade commencement and party. Motion to encumber $3,000 for expenses by Amanda Snow, seconded by Erica Marr. Motion passed.

2015 – 2016 Executive Board Elections:
The following have been nominated to serve on the 2015-2016 PTO Executive Board:
President-Lisa Leedom, Vice President – Fundraising -Michele Barragan, Vice President - Communications - Tina Rowe, Secretary-Kelly Anderson, Treasurer-Misty Hammer. All those in attendance may vote on whether to install the slate. Motion to vote all nominated as a slate as the next Executive Board was made by Nicole Mongiovi and seconded by Amanda Snow. Motion passed.
