Officer Application for the 2016-2017 School Year

NJHS officers have an important role in our program. Not only do they represent the group, but they are in charge of assisting the chapter advisor in important fundraising, communication, note-taking, and leadership services. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND ALL MEETINGS!

Officer Positions and Description of duties from NJHS Constitution

Section I. The officers of the chapter shall be president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and historian.

Section II. All returning active members are eligible to run for a position as an officer. All active members of the chapter are eligible to vote.

Section III. A majority vote shall be necessary to elect any officer of this chapter. If the first vote does not yield a majority, a second vote shall be taken of the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes.

Section IV. It shall be the duty of the president to preside at the meetings for this chapter.

Section V. The vice-president shall preside in the absence of the president and shall also keep a record of members’ contributions to leadership and service.

Service VI. The secretary shall keep the minutes of the meetings and be responsible for all official chapter correspondence.

Section VII. The treasurer shall keep the record of chapter expenses, dues, and all other financial transactions of the chapter.

Section VIII. The historian shall keep the records of the chapter through taking pictures and creating a scrapbook. The scrapbook will be presented at the last general meeting of the year.

This application is due to Ms. Carr (Room 208) or Mrs. Wuensche (Library) by 4pm on Tuesday, May 17. No late applications will be accepted. Applications must be complete with signatures and other required information. Failure to attend both the morning and afternoon meeting when elections are heldwill result in your name being removed from the ballot.
