The University of the West Indies, in collaboration with Sterling Asset Management, has completed the Final Round of the 2010 Jamaican Mathematical Olympiad. A total of 49 students sat the Final Round Examination, which was held on April 17, 2010. These students came from 21 high schools throughout Jamaica. After assessing the examination scripts, the Department of Mathematics has determined that 15 students--the three best performers from each of the Grades 7 through11—are medalists. The remaining 34 students receive an Honourable Mention. The medalists, who placed First, Second, or Third, come from 9 different high schools in Jamaica.
The Department of Mathematics, on behalf of the University of the West Indies and Sterling Asset Management, congratulates all students who are Medalists or receive an Honourable Mention. We also thank the students, their parents and guardians, and their teachers for the dedication and enthusiastic support they’ve shown through the four rounds of this competition.
