5.Definitions

Primer surfacer, aka, primer filler, fill primer. This primer is used to fill small scratches and imperfections from the body repair process. It is not designed to be used directly over metal. For large metal areas use epoxy primer and for small metal areas use etch primer.

6.Procedure

Step / Action / Responsibility
1. / Mix Primer Surfacer
1.1Begin by wearing paint respirator, safety glasses, and gloves before mixing primer. Complete online form.
1.2Read product technical sheet for mixing ratios, flash times, dry times, pot life, and all of the other recommendations.
1.3Read MSDS for all safety and hazard concerns.
1.4Make certain that all products are removed from the mixing table. This will prevent accidental mistakes of adding the wrong chemical when mixing.
1.5Get the ShopLine 202 primer surfacer and place on mixing table.
1.6Get 301 catalyst for small priming jobs; or 302 catalyst for large prime jobs and set on mixing table.
1.7Set a 3M cup and liner onto the mixing scale and select the amount of primer surfacer needed.
1.8Poor primer and catalyst and mix together using a wood or metal stir stick
1.9Put a lid and screw lid ring onto the cup, then attach to primer gun. / Any Student
