Your Board met on 6/20 and summary of pertinent points from the meeting follow:
Rack Cards: Linda S. and Linda P. are working on these. Linda P. is asking for pictures of artwork to be sent to her by members to be considered for use on the rack cards. If interested,
Please send to in jpeg format.
County Fair: The Art Barn has no sponsor and no superintendent this year. The Fair people will act as superintendent if we can get enough volunteers to handle entry and hosting. Last year the Key Club handled the set up and dismantling of the display. Dates are August 17, 18, 19, 20.with entry on the 15th and hanging on the 16th.
Members Show: We need a coordinator for the entry forms. Annie will check on hiring someone to set up and take down the standards and we will need someone to supervise. We will have sign-up sheets at the September meeting. The Silent Auction is going to be great. Randy has gathered all sorts of wonderful things to bid on. A list will be posted on our website so that all members will know who has donated (this will keep us from making duplicate requests!)
New Business:PAFAC exhibit 7/16-8/6 "Clothes Oft Make the Man, Fashion and Passion in the Time of Shakespeare" (more info at pafac, org) Peninsula Art Association in Shelton: The Shelton Civic Center looking for art for their next rotation. Call Mark Zeigler 360-432-5194. Check their website for more info.
Barbara DiPirro will be putting on a one-day workshop in late October or early November. More info as soon as available. Linda S. is working with Barbara on this. Linda S. moved that we sponsor this workshop and Annie seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Linda S. will coordinate the exhibit of members work at the Bank. Photos of artwork will be juried for hanging as there is space for only about 20 paintings, depending on size. This will run Dec, Jan, and Feb.
The trip to Neah Bay has been cancelled due to lack of participation. We are very disappointed that there weren't enough people interested to make this possible.
Scholarships:We did not get any applications for scholarships this year, In lieu of scholarships, it has been recommended we contact the art teachers at the middle and high schools and find out what we can get for them, A donation of art supplies and/or equipment could be made,,,this would impact more than just one scholarship recipient and would make it easier to work with the teachers in the future for scholarships. We shouldraise our scholarship amounts.
meeting adjourned......
PLEASE, MEMBERS, CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING. THIS IS YOUR ART ORGANIZATION AND WITHOUT YOU, WE ARE NOTHING. READ THIS NEWSLETTER AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT KIND OF HELP WE NEED. IF YOU CAN HELP, PLEASE CONTACT PRESIDENT BARBARA OR ONE OF YOUR BOARD MEMBERS.
