HHB FlashMic Is Jamie Foxx’s Secret Weapon

Jamie Foxx Academy Award-winning actor, American Music Award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated musician, and stand-up comedian has included yet more titles to his impressive résumé. In 2007, he added on-air host, contributor and executive producer of a satellite radio station’s 24/7 comedy, entertainment and lifestyle program. This new radio show features routines from a variety of comedians, guest appearances by Foxx’s friends from the worlds of entertainment and sports, and, on Foxx’s segment of weekly show, skits and interviews recorded on the run by the comedian using his HHB FlashMic.

Foxx appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” surprising the talk show host and the audience when he pulled out his FlashMic to explain how he spontaneously captures material for his groundbreaking new satellite radio show. “I can take this mic, record whatever I want, and then pop it right on the radio. It’s my secret weapon,” he said. (To view this segment, go to www.flashmic.info)

A gifted improvising comedian, Foxx reportedly carries a FlashMic wherever he goes in order to record ideas for original skits and comedy bits, conversations with his entertainment industry friends or anything interesting to add to his unpredictable radio show. The show can feature anything from Foxx at his birthday party in Miami to his thoughts on the current state of baseball. The FlashMic offers over 18 hours of recording time depending on the selected digital audio format onto a 1GB internal Flash memory, allowing Foxx to amass plenty of material on his worldwide travels.

Foxx has enjoyed success on stage, television, film and record. A classically trained four- time Grammy-nominated pianist raised in the church, his 2006 debut album on J Records, “Unpredictable,” sold over two million copies, produced several singles, and won Foxx his first AMA. His collaboration with Kanye West, “Gold Digger,” was also nominated, and spent ten weeks atop the Billboard Top 100.

Performing on the stand-up comedy club circuit before moving into television, first as a cast member on “In Living Color” then as the star of “The Jamie Foxx Show,” he has since played some memorable roles in such major motion pictures as “Any Given Sunday,” “Ali,” “Jarhead,” Collateral” and “Miami Vice.” In 2005 he won the Oscar for Best Actor along with numerous other awards for his portrayal of Ray Charles in “Ray.”

Jamie Foxx, Jaime Rucker King and Marcus King are partners in Foxx King Entertainment.
